Barclay is very iffy on alot of things, as im still waiting for an approval or denial with their apple finaicing and its been a month since i verified myself. if you dont have all your ducks in a row with them, then do not apply and waste a hp. wait to your cr gets strong, so u wont get a denial.

It teaches you good habits even if you don't know why the habits are good. I am super thankful for Credit Karma for making me conscious of credit and teaching me the order I had to app for cards in and which were good and which weren't. For score though, don't completely go by it. Ignore the number it gives you but completely pay attention to what it says is causing that score to go up and down because in this, it is accurate.

So we were able to get a car loan, it takes 6 months to generate a credit score, I should have a score come July.

This might sound horrible but I think you should slowly save up to get one. You should look at the refurbished ones from best buy or apple directly, they're usually in very good condition and somewhat cheaper. To get approved for these, especially Barclay, it takes a very above average credit score.

here is a strategy that worked for my brother;. he got a secured card fo 300. Didn't use it at all for 12 months. At 12 months he applied for the apple barclay card for 5k, got it after a phone call to verify identity. Same day he applied for an amazon card instant approval at 2,500. Waited two months for it to report applied for virgin air credit card and was approved at 6k, same day southewest chase (6,500), nexty day walmart mastercard approved 700, one week later chase slate (5k). Now he is done. I think this is a better strategy than trying small cards and building up--he got three visa signature cards, and slate all within one year. no other tradelines
