sportsmans guide visa - HP or SP?

I got the pop up for the sportsman visa. I am not surprised because I recently got the total rewards visa as well. The total rewards pop up ended with an HP from equifax. I wasn't expecting that.

Is the sportsman a HP or SP? I tried searching but not coming up with anything definitive.

Total rewards is suppose to be a SP too, you never know

I'm jealous. I've been trying to add the Sportsman's Guide popup to my collection for a couple months now. Still no joy.

I've read that any Visa or MC SCT is supposed to be a HP but I've also read some people saying they never got a HP when getting the Sportsman Guide Visa. I was recently denied for this one so unfortunately I can't help with a definitive answer.

I've always heard that total rewards is a HP. I have sportsman's and my wife the fuel rewards via pop-up. Nobody has HP here.

Total rewards asks for full social.

I read somewhere that it has to do with the fact that TR is linked to gambling and only via HP they can confirm full Identity and see if there's tax liens, etc.

I have both Sportsmans guide and Total Rewards. Got both of them via pre-approval popup, and after submitting application took a HP on each. Every thread I have come across for these cards says HP, except maybe ron1 said soft pull for him but that seems to have been a fluke.

Commenity co-branded VISA's you should count on a HP, even with pre-approval popup.

Well lucky you! I got the pre-approval popup and took a HP. I have tax liens reporting as well :/
