I had an option to upgrade to the Visa today! But when I saw it would close my account, I declined. I deintely don't need to lower my AAoA right now. I would like a higher increase though on my CL. Is it a SP or HP?

Thanks!

You can also call Credit Solutions or ask for an increase on chat. I'd recemmend either of those instead because you can request how high you wanna go.

Keep in mind that a "National Bank Card" (aka MC/V) is a better account on your credit report than a "store card".

I don't have very many store cards left (Amazon which I use a lot and Walmart for FICO scores and special financing offers) so I jumped on my recent offer for Old Navy to convert to a Visa card - I was actually going to close the card later this year because its a store card I don't use much, but now its another $5k national bank card on my credit report that I'll probably use enough to keep it active.

To be fair I also have a Lowes Card and Home Depot Card - both have high credit limits, and I suppose those are "store cards" too.

I would have upgraded if I wasn't in the middle of getting a mortgage where my credit history is pretty new. (It's only 20 months old sadly.)

After closing I will try and upgrade again I did log in and saw a 1.4k limit! That's double my $700 limit at least
