Is this a real capital one email?

I closed one card, applied for a better one and was instantly denied, 2 days later I get this email from them. The way they want me to login seems really fishy to me and I was already denied so why provide MORE info? Unless its a way to avoid sending out a paper decline?

Chatted with cap1 they just send you to someone else each time. Looked fake but did it anyway, it was real. its the decline letter for my app

Yes, they just use a third party message delivery site. It is real. I have received those messages.

It's real. I thought it was fake too when DH got the email. Alot of companies are moving over to paperless statements to send out the denial letters. So far Walmart and Cap One does it from what I see.

That's an INSANE amount of information to demand (especially to demand via a sketchy email message) just to access a denial letter! Man, aren't these people aware of ANY security concerns?????

It's real, too bad it DOESN'T WORK! At least for me. Out of all the denials i have gotten that email for, only ONE shows up when i login. When i asked the online reps about it, of course, they had no idea what I was even talking about. And since they sent me that email, i never received anything by snail mail, so i have no way of knowing why i got denied,

This is definitely insane to ask for all these numbers by email. I guess I would never have seen the denial letter as there is no way I would have entered all this info from an email link 😳

edit: just saw that it required only the last 4 and this I would have done as well..lol

Exact same thing happened to me just now. When I called, the girl had no idea what is wrong with my info to login. Said I will get a letter in the mail soon. Oh well...

I never retrieve those messages. Deep down, I already know why it was declined. No need for them to go through all that trouble to say the word inquiries

I got one of those too and I was kind of tripping out as well since it sends you to a 3rd party site. Lol. Took me a while to figure it out it's legit.
