Today went on a bit of a spree. Closed on house about to buy all the needs for the house so decided I need to pay for my next vacation through points. I got approved for two Chase cards the CSP and United. Applied for Amax Gold as I've read the charge cards all have same underwriting criteria and I got denied. I attempted a recon but they said it be a whole new application and a whole new credit pull.

Has everyone else seen this same experience? Will the denial affect if I decided to apply for an Everday Card? Really want to be a personal member on Amax I did get added to my gf Gold card as an authorized user.

Some of the charge cards have the same or similar criteria as other charge cards. A credit card with them is harder to obtain. With amex recon generally a new credit pull is required. Sometimes when reconning they will pull a different bureau.

Amex rarely recons unless there is an error on your report. If denied for a charge card, I wouldn't app a revolver.

Dont recon unless a good drastic change happened in your EX report.

Ay thanks for the responses. Looks like the closed the other duplicate forum. Ex is my lowest score actually dropped recently when I cleared all of my credit card debt. It dropped by about 15 points.

I think I'm done for at least 6 months. Added a discover it after my two earlier approvals.
