Chevron or 76 Gas are both Ge/Sync and are very BK friendly and will start approving usually in the low 600's

have you started to do other rebuilding though because really a bk from beginning 2011 would not hurt you with MOST creditors at this point

Yes I have my credit scores are Trans 710 experian 668 equifax 656 I have several preapproved cc and my credit has been rebuild for 2 yrs now.

well who are your pre-approvals with?

Depending where you live? Gas cards can still be more valuable than any regular gas card even at 5% in my opinion if you are say in CA like me because we have "Cash" price and "Credit" price and most of the gas stations like 76 or Chevron give "Cash" price at the pump with their co-branded credit card plus the additional discounts ($.10 cents or $.05 cents with 76 card)

but in places in the country where you get no addtional discount for cash or co-branded card you would probably be better off with a rotating 5% category card or two and a 3% at all time card if you can't get 5%.

I can't afford any more HP's I have 14 four will be dropping off 3/15. I'm in Michigan not sure which gas card is good for my situation. Just got a visa $2000 Cl I'm closing my capital one $1500 CL

Why not contact EO and upgrade to quicksilver and ask for cli (no hp)

I requested a CL increase a week ago they declined they pulled a credit report from July it had unfavorable info on my CR which has been removed now I tried to get them to override their decision but they wouldn't. What number do you have for me to speak to an EO to get the quicksilver card?

Just call back of card. If you had it any length of time. In fact. With quicksilver one. You would earn much more back than a gas card. Because you get that 1.5% everywhere everyday. Not sure. How long have you had your cap1? Because there very generous right now. They don't want you to ask for cli. They will give it. I'm guessing your starting limit is 1500? Give it time. Gas cards are known to give very low limits. Like 250

I've had the cap1 card for 2 yrs my limit was &1000 it's $1500 now I had a few baddies on my CR so they have been removed now thanks to you guys maybe I will contact the EO and ask to upgrade to the quicksilver card. I'm so grateful for all the wealth of information I have read in the last few months from this forum. Thanks again for your help/assistance

Well since you had that long. I'm sure you will get qs1. It has AF 29 I believe. But you will earn 5 times that back in cash back. You can redeem anytime for any amount. Even get check sent to yourself. Very good card.

Thanks creditaddict I reached out this morning spoke to someone in the EO and upgraded to the quicksilver card... Whoop whoop!!! This forum is Awesome you guys are soooo knowledgeable.

I got a Shell back in July with scores in the low 6's, Hugh utl, starting limit was $200 hit the love button next day asked for $100 got it then hit it again the next day and asked for $200 and got it. Will be hitting it again in December.

Me either. But to answer. Shell is a citi card. They mostly pull eq of course it will be hp. As poster said. He got whopping 200 but got 100 cli.

I can tell you, One of my first unsecured cards was a gas card from Alon. It is issued through commenity. My score at that point was in the low 500's and they still gave me a shot. Its not a bad card either I just got an email today that they are now offering 5% back on all gas purchases. It is not true cash back as they just send you a voucher for any alon store but its worth it as I usually just buy coffee or something that I would normally pay for.

Good job there! Congrats. Most gas cards aren't worth it in the long run IMO unless they're benefits you get with a card like the Chase Freedom or Amex TrueEarnings Costco card.
