Nordstrom Visa Signature - Can now apply online

I was browsing through the nordstrom credit card page and it says that we can now apply for the visa signature online. Has anyone done this yet? I heard the chances of getting approved is better in person.

I'm baffled why an in-person app is more likely to be approved since no one in the stores have any input on decisioning?

For those that carry a balance, the APR is 4% higher for non-Nordstrom purchases and I don't recall which version of Ex they use or, if it's their own variant.

It's easier to get an in-store approval due to verification. It seems like Nordstrom is picky and it's a bit harder to get an online instant approval.

They triple pulled me in January in store and put me through verification. The cashier entered my address wrong, but if the online option had been available to me then I would have just gone that route then going into the store to apply.

Anyone know which Ex version they pull?

I looked at the online app after signing in to my store account, it looks like an abbreviated app BUT, it appears to be a generic app for store/Visa card? Seems odd if you already have a store card

@Anonymous DARE THEY!! I just app'd for this card 4/16/15 online, since I was too lazy to drive to their closest store for the VISA. I realize they only offered the store card via the online application at the time, but only 3 weeks later and now you can app online for either. I got instantly approved for the store card $1500 @ 14.9. It was a HP on EX.

Hey everyone i got approve for the visa signature tier 1!! It was worth making a trip to the store. Im so happy! When the associate asked if i want the nordstorm retail or visa signature i instantly said visa signature! Yayyyy

Are you serious? I can't believe it says that. I make Nordstrom purchases using different Visa and MC so they would have no way to "track" if I am a frequent purchaser. And, the definiton of frequent is ambiguous.

I got the stupid Nordstrom debit a few years ago but never use it. It's ncei to have access with it to the anniversay pre-sale though.

The app doesn't indicate it's VISA specific, still appears to be a generic dual app online.

I called Nordstroms with questions regarding the online applications process.

When you apply on-line they will consider you for the VIsa and store charge card. The minimum Visa credit line is $5K. I forgot to ask but I think you would have a seperate store limit as well. Norstroms card porfolio is now owned by TD Bank but the approval and customer service will still be done by Nordstroms.

No, they don't have separate limit like Macys.

I have read that you are more likely to get approved because they know you are somewhat serious as you are already shopping in their store. Also cuts down on fraud as the cashier is there to verify you are who you say you are. I have also heard the ICL tend to be higher if you app in the store than on line.

I wonder how much weight is given to those who have Nordstroms debit account? In the garden, but thinking closer to xmas
