BOA Rejection

Edits: I applied for a new BOA credit card with 2 existing cards already with them.Sorry for the typo on the score earlier.

My limits are $2000 and $ 2000.

Have a FICO score of 753 and two cards with BOA. They rejected me since they said that I already have sufficient credit with them. I even offered to use some of my other credit from my other cards, but they said that will not be possible.

Called 866-618-4585 and 8885036092 and both have the same answer.

What should I do, just accept the rejection ?

IMHO you should consider yourself immensely fortunate of having any cards short of secured maybe with that anemic a FICO.

Sorry OP but it just doesn't fly with Prime lenders in the 500's whatsoever from my experience.

Code for: Your time with current cards isnt sufficient or U dont hav sufficient spend or both. B4 app'ing for addtl cards make use of the ones U currently hav (to build reasonable history).

I was just surprised that they could not even transfer credit from my existing card which had worked for some of my friends before.

I guess you won't be able to do anything at this time. I've tried a lot of things with them (moving credit limit to an other card, upgadring a card to reduce my AF (I have a card that they don't make anymore with AF and new premium don't have fee) but I got NO everytime!

3-4 years ago, they was pretty easy with me for limit transfer and card upgrade but not anymore i guess.

Make good use of your two cards and try to raise the limit on them maybe and then see if you want a third card with them.

I've been with them for over 10 yrs now. Banking & cc. Had a measly 1k card. I tried again recently with my new cc's with the larger limits & BofA gave me the red Rewards card sig with a 12k SL. I think it's a combination of things for them. Mostly your history & how you handle your current credit.

Sorry don't mean to thread jack... My wife and I had 3 B of A CC with them for over 10 years $8k $5k and $2k I believe. She closed the accounts about 4 years ago everything paid off and no lates. I applied for a B of A CC recently and got countered a $500Cl but I had to make a deposit of $99 and an annual fee of $59, I declined the offer. Should I call and see if they can reconsider me for a regular card instead?

I would just leave it alone. If you draw attention to yourself with boa, they will review your account and with that low of a score, they might even just shut u down.

Even with a high score, if they see something they dont like they might shut u down if you draw attention to your accounts with them.

What is the reason they are offering you a secured card. Did you burn them or something?. I would find out the reason for the denial before pursuing any further. of course you can always call and try. But with that kind of history with BOA. it should have been instant approval. as regardless of not being on your credit report now. they would still know who you are. somethings wrong with Boa. find out asap
