So my BF's credit is improving from when he was in college he screwed up well we might have some good news

Barclays Ring - No go when we called the first analyst. Going to try a few more, only reason - Not enough experience with individual account right now

Chase Freedom - Reviewing - He might be BL for defaulting on a card like 10 years ago...not sure but its worth a shot

Amex Everyday - Another long shot, but it came back asking for additional info and he answered and now the application is being reviewed.

So we are hoping, His Fico Scores are 670 across so its worth a shot we figured since he is still technically rebuilding.

Goodluck! My scores are around his when I got approved for the Amex BCE/Everyday, Chase Slate, and Barclays Sallie Mae last month. Don't give up!!!

So far it looks like Amex was denied. Not sure why, the reasons don't or won't say on the website. My guess is maybe the same reason as Barclays? Still waiting on Chase though.

I don't want to be mean; just realistic. Your BF shouldn't be wasting Inquiries on those cards. Freedom would have been a good choice but if he screwed Chase in the past, BL is a possibility.

AMEX and Ring, nah I wouldn't bother.

Capital One Venture and Quicksilver...yes! For your BF's credit, I can't think of any 2 better cards for him. And when he gets approved for Venture, immediately apply for Quicksilver.

Barclay Rewards...probably ok.

And for the record, he should also stay away from Citi, USBank and probably Discover for the time being (unless you're willing to go joint with him on Discover) BofA is possible but still a longshot unless he has a banking relationship with them already.

Synchrony Chevron VISA is relatively easy to get. Walmart card too. Although he may end up with the store card only versions instead of the VISA/MC versions.
