Sharing my experience on Chase and Bank Of America

So I apped for the Chase Sapphire and Bank of America Cash Rewards card. Both got denied and I Reconned Both. Chase Says too many new accounts in the past 2 years? Of Course I have new acounts, I been establishing credit an got new ones when I apped back in Nov14for the Freedom right along with other cards on the same app day. But since Nov, I only got 2 new accts (Amex) this year. Thats it. BOA says my report listed a charge-off thats the only reason that I got denied. Explained the CO was an error and that I had Experian to email the updated notes and if they like i can forward it to them. They wouldn't accept it, said I would have to cold app again. I'm not fixing to app again, I'm not fixing to keep piling up inquires. Lesson learned, and I cared to enough share maybe it''ll help someone else. I did pull my CR and that how I saw the CO and Was informed that they willl update my report, well they did a day after I apped I just was sure it was gone after a month wait. So double check your CR before apping, you never know whats still on your report.

Lol..now Chase wants to go back 2 years???? Chase didn't like the CO and gave a bull reason.

Notice when they deny an application, they tell you to lay low for 6 months then reapply? Shows that's the amount of time they feel is sufficient...not only for some history but inquiries. They mention nothing of 2 yrs.

U could mention in your email the lessson the you learned ans just ask for reconsideration. I say u might have a good chance.

I was denied in the middle of march for the csp and i said screw it and apped one month later again and was approved so there amount of time is all over

That's even worse! So we went from 2 yrs to 6months to 1 month. Shows they don't go back that far for inquiries. In your case, you would've had all the ones within 2 yrs + how ever many you got within that month. All = approved.

It was a bull reason stated above.

It sounds like they could do a new pull since the error on your CR has dropped but of course the result would be an additional pull

Sorry to hear about your denials. I've had better luck with BoA reconsideration when I acknowledge any past negatives (legitimate or not). Chase has tightened up on reconsideration lately.

When did your last baddie fall off? Is it possible that BoA kept a previous report from a previous application?

As for Chase, looking back 2 years is way too harsh considering reports only show the last 8 (?) years of history...

That was my first time apping for BOA, I patiently waited to app for them.The baddie was a mistake first of all, it came off like next day after I apped. Seriously I got a call from the Baddie Company (RAC) stating they just updated my report. They sent me a confirmation of the proof showing it was updated. Yeah Chase thats whats the reps said on the phone and when my letter came in thats what it says. I wish I knew how to upload pictures and black out my name and address. I will post it.Anywhooo I dont feel terribly bad anymore because I think I got all the cards that I need now. NFCU Cash rewards 15,000; Venture 10,000, and I think Discover is going to be one of myeveryday cards 5,750 5% cash back rewards. Discover card is beautiful, I love pretty cards! I did get Barclaycard 1500, its my lowest limit but I'm hoping that will grow pretty Quick. I also have 2 Quicksilvers 1 from 2008 and the other one is from Nov14, Walmart 6,000 NOV14, and from JUL2014 I have Commenity bank cards, I just got them to start issuing out cli somehow I had a fraud alert on EQuifax and I didn't know it. So I plan on hitting the luv button and getting the lines of credit up an SD them. I don't care for to keep them after 2 years. I almost forgot about my other Baby AMEX I have 2cards with them BCE&BCP & 7,500 on both. My income is 145,000 HH actually more but thats what I been listing on the new cards for 2015, Amex I went with my own income 70,000. I'm going try again to see if I get get my cc signature listed on here. I been through a lot on this credit journey an I learned from a lot by reading on these forums and please share your stories because you never know what someone else in enduring on their journey and in that search box hoping to come across some key words that will link them to what they need to read up on.

There have been multiple recent reports of Chase analysts citing the too many accounts over two years deal.

Idk if it'll make a difference but you can request the credit agency send your updated report to every creditor you applied for in the last few months . Probably wont over turn your denial but it wont hurt to try .
