Looking for a CU Need suggestions

I had been looking a establishing a CU relationship for a while and also wanted to refi my auto so when looking at the Rates when this Langley FCU thread came up I said what the heck. I have only a few inquiries on EQ and they offer just what I am looking for at a great rate and it will all be one pull good for 30 days....

So yesterday I called in to find out when some answers to technical questions about my auto refi after faxing payoff and registration and got escillated a couple of times to a manager who told me they were not going to fund my auto refi nor will they set up my LOC that they approved me for. They said they knew I was one of those "myfico online people" and you have all been flagged and we are not going to approve any of those accounts.

I am now looking for a new instution FCU for checking, LOC overdraft and Auto Re-fi. Current auto is 5.5%

Looking at DCU and Alliant any suggestions?

Ah, the horror of the MyFico online people. First, there were zombies and now this. Soon to be a made for TV movie, 'MyFicoers attack poor defenseless credit union'

Amazing that a banking institution would make such a stupid statement. Can you image Chase telling an applicant that we won't approve you for a Ritz card because of all the people on MF that applied for the card. Jeez, let's turn down potential profit because you can't handle the number of applications. I'm thankful that none of the CUs I belong are that idiotic.

Yeah, agree, whatever. It made me go from 4 to 7 inquries and now I have to app again.

No I cant imagine. I did app for Cabela's though since I thought I was done and got approved for $8k instant. Another reason I was not thrilled about doing another multi pull CU app cycle.

I read your thread and cannot believe they said your one of those MYFICO people and will be approve your loan after it was aproved.

I opened an account at DCU March 31st applied for a loan and was denied, was looking for a preapproval so I could find the truck we needed.

I did buy a truck, was financed thru wells fargo dealer services at 8.99%. Yesterday I recevied a message new members looking for a second chance auto loan(refiance)

should apply. I did apply and within an hour was approved at 3.99%, a little disappointing my score was 688, DH was 636, of course they ran loan on his lower score, but today to my surprise, received this message....Reduce you loan interest rate up to 1.50% with our payment reward program, every 3 months i will get a reduction of 1/4% up to 1.50% max.

So I was pretty pleased at this program, my rate will go down to 2.49% in a 1 1/2 yrs, as long as accounts are in good standing and payments are all on time.

WOW, I cannot beleive they would even say that. It amazes me what comes out of they mouth at times. Bad customer service, I would write a letter to the President/CEO about this if it was me. Including the rep name you spoke with.

I agree. She made her comments after she she had just come from an Executive meeting where they had all discussed the situation and this was their conclusion in their meeting. Not sure if he was in attendance of this meeting? The point is that place is a mess and handled everything very unprofessional. Officially, I have yet to get anything from them in writing.

I am off to investigate PenFed as this seems like a more worthwhile investment of time and effort. Onward and upward!

I did call and speak with them today. I was not crazy about how their LOC works, basically a CC as alt funding source.

If I were to guess, it's probably not from monitoring the forums but a couple people told them about the posts here in response to 'what brought you to our CU?'

Just my personal experience the past 3 months, PenFed is the model for customer service for all financial institutions. They're also quite generous with SLs. Although mine were relatively low compared to what many others have received, I'm grateful for the opportunity. PLUS, an honest recon got Promise & PLOC denials overturned.

YES, THEY TOLD ME THE SAME THING AND THEY ARE WATCHING OUR POSTS AS I WAS ON THE PHONE WITH THEM. THEY WERE WATCHING OUR POSTS AND TRYING TO MATCH WITH UP WITH OUR APPLICATIONS AS THEY CAME IN. SMDH.

YES, and they told me they were reading them...and when they were telling me the lady sounded real stressed out. I want to add they told me to let the member know to tell them they are from the forum so they would make sure they get their apps through faster and their loans taken care of. they had me believe they are happy for our membership. that's why I had felt it was my fault because I had felt for them...badly. but its all good because I've learned a valuable lesson.

Very interesting. Maybe if they spent more time dealing with customer service and less time reading forums then maybe they wouldn't get so many complaints about them here.
