They pull TU. Very conservative and waste of time I hear.

They pulled my TU and only my TU it seems. Its my best, but I suspect my best isn't good enough...

I apped for the rewards card. My TU is just under 700 but I have problems with INQs

If you carry insurance with them, they seem a lot more likely to extend you credit. My dad was with them for years, and they offered him one of the lowest rates he could find on a car loan (2.5% which was matched by the dealership).

Edit: Looking at their cards, I assume you're already a State Farm customer. Sorry they denied you.

I am not a customer, but that doesn't stop one from applying. I do recognize that being a pre-existing customer can be helpful.

I didn't get an official denial yet. But I didn't get immediate approval, either, and they HP my TU yesterday...my assumption is in the negative, though.

I just thought it would be a good grown-up card to have, and I was told they pull TU (which is at least true in my case) so...

Does State Farm even give immediate approvals? I have a State Farm Rewards card and didn't get an immediate approval, just showed up in my online account one day even before I recieved any letters in the mail.

I'm not sure what my score was around then, very thin file, but I'm a State Farm bank customer and auto insurance through them. It's still my highest limit (1k), where my capital one cards are 500 and 300.

Oh. I assumed you were because it looked like the rewards on those cards could only be used on State Farm products. Didn't look at the cards very carefully though. Regardless, good luck!

Captool, they frequently double pull TU and EQ. They're conservative and the rewards are worse than many other cards. Instant approval is rare for them.

Incidentally, I've been shopping for car insurance quotes and can't seem to get their page to load regardless of the browser I use.

car loan and credit card approvals are not even in the same state for comparison.

They are SUPER conservative for credit card... like VERY few INQ's (like as few as FNBO lets by!)

and they did not like to see my partners large amounts of unsecured credit lines available to him and wanting to add more despite that he has been a state farm customer for over 12 years... so that plays no role in approvals!
