Macy's Amex Upgrade

Hello all. I asked to have my macys upgraded on may 30th. up to now ive not heard a single word from them. i know before i even asked they said it could take up to 30 days. but damn. how hard can it be. ive not seen anything hit my reports. i don't even see where they soft pulled me at all. anyone else with the macys amex have this experience?. should i sm them or just keep waiting? since im in true garden mode the only way is to have it soft pulled. im not gonna apply and im not sure if upgrade knocks one out of the garden anyway. after all i did not apply. any advice thanks. Following, since I'm curious too. I'm not looking at trying to upgrade it until sometime in late 2016 though....

I upgraded two months ago. Took them about 4 weeks to mail me a letter that I was approved and another week to send me the new card.they didn't email me or anything about it before I got the letter. hope this helps. I think since you have few Amex card, macys will upgrade you, it'll take some time, they are lazy lol

Thank you. this is exactly what i was trying to find out. same here. have not heard a single word from them. nothing. im not gonna call them lazy. hehehe. but they ae not in a hurry for sure.

Anytime taxi. I'm a long time lurker. Your posts and others on here helped me a lot. It was because of you guys I was able to get citi prestige, double cash, chase freedom, CSP, jetblue Amex, sallie Mae mc, discover cli, venture and finally upgrading macys to macys Amex. I would have never known about all of those if it wasn't for you guys so big thanks to you and everyone here

Hi, It takes a while, but if your credit is good you should not have a problem. I called to apply they told me they could not process it for a fraud alert, that I would need to go apply in the store. I applied in the store and was DENIED because I already have a Macys (10K) and Macys Amex (1.5). The cashier showed me another screen with both of my accounts! Call back or visit a store they can pull up your accounts.

Taxi, did you hear about your upgrade yet? I just applied for mine via chat and am trying to gauge the process and timeline based on your experience

How long did you have Macy's before requesting an upgrade? I recently got in with Amex on my own this month, but I'm an AU on a BCE. Would like to someday if I can switch my card, but would like to know how long before trying to make the jump. I've had my Macy's for 4 months.

The Macy's Am Ex is a ci branded card. Not the same as American Express issued by Centurion bank. What is your current limit and current Ex score?

I would wait 6 months to go for an upgrade.

Ok. That works out okay. I just got the Apple Rewards this month, so I 'm not going to apply for anything new, but being able to upgrade my Macy's would be good because I have some store cards that I would like to get rid of (not that I won't still shop there, but I would like to substitute them with bank cards). As I have qualified for a bank card, I have closed out a store card. Some store cards like Walmart, Sam's, Amazon, Lowes, Overstock, and JCrew, I will keep, but other Comenity cards I would like to get rid of them because there hasn't been any growth in them and I'm keeping them at a zero balance, but still shopping at the stores.

I just applied via chat on Friday for the Amex. I think I have a good chance. I was also told that I would receive a response in 30 days, which is kind of crazy. I went to the local Macy's and spoke with an associate while looking at jewelery and she said it really doesn't take that long. I suppose I'll have to login and watch my account to see if the card changes as someone mentioned previously.

Did anyone receive their card yet?

I upgraded my Bloomingdale's recently and while they tell everyone up to 30 days the Am Ex logo showed on my website page in a matter of days (5 maybe ) and the card came in about 2 1/2 weeks.

Dang it. Macy's denied me the AMEX. I am 715 Experian.

But, I did get a new combined credit limit of 10K!

The rep had me on hold for over 5 minutes, which is unlike Macy's and I hung up. Called back and got another person who had me on hold for 2 minutes and finally stumbled through what he needed to tell me about my declination. He said they were no longer processing the Amex. He only looked into it because I applied a few weeks ago.

Guess, I'll have to find other cards to upgrade. But, I'm so happy with the 10K storecard limit.
