Chase Question

I just got approved for the Freedom card just 2 days ago. If I was to apply for another Chase Card today, would they still use the samr hard pull from two days ago to review or would that require another hard pull??

I've never applied for two cards on the same day so I can't speak on that. But I have applied for two cards in one week (Amex) and it resulted in two separate inquiries.

When I applied for my Freedom, I applied for the CSP right after and I believe I was pulled on 2 different bureaus, but I they only pulled for the first card in my case.

jawbrkr, let's do it. I'm in exactly the same boat. I appd for Slate the other day. I wanted CSP or Freedom but was nervous about trying for two. I'm considering apping for a second Chase card right now prior to all my new accounts from my recent app spree reporting in the next few weeks.
Whatdya say ??? Let's spin the credit wheel ??? What are you going for ???

Welp, just appd for the CSP. Got the "we need more time to review your application. If your approved, your card will arrive in the mail in 7 - 10 days."

I assume it'll be a decline for too many new accounts (5 on EX) or too many INQ's (12 on EX). Do you know if this does get approved if it will show on my Chase online account I created last week for my Slate approval ??? Thanks.

I was actually thinking of going for the CSP. CK says i have a good chance but I wonder if that is good enough? I have a very short history..almost 5 months but my file is pristine with no derogs. What do u think? Too soon? I also asked about upping my Visa to a Visa Signature but the rep told me I had to wait a year. But then she forwarded my request to the higher powers for review.

Jawbrkr, come on, jump in. The waters fine (LOL). I just got the email this morning stating "they're reviewing my app and if approved, my card should arrive within 7 day's." I won't be waiting by my mailbox. I'm expecting the decline letter, but who knows. I'm certain it's because I just appd last week for the Chase Slate. I went for the Slate as its supposedly easy to get and I was approved for 5500.CL, so if they decline CSP, I won't be upset. I'm happy to have my "foot in the door". But if you haven't appd with Chase, I'd definitely say "go for it". Your file being clean, and thin, will probably get you in. I'd app for the card you want. I wanted the Slate for the free monthly FICO score's. While the CSP would be a bonus, I have several other awards card's including AMEX PRG, DELTA PLAT, & BCP, along with Cap One QS & Venture, and Wells Fargo Propel, so I'm not heartbroken (LOL) if the CSP is declined. I'll get it in 6 - 12 month's.

I haven't received any alerts yesterday or today so I don't believe they did another HP, or at least, not yet. I suppose if I don't receive another HP that could go either way: maybe they'll use the original HP from last week's Slate app OR it might mean I'm declined and they're not even going to do another HP. At this point, I'm expecting a decline, but if it doesn't cost me a HP, that'd be sweet. I'll update as soon as I receive any word, be it good, bad, or indifferent. I wish Chase had a status webpage like Amex and some other's. I don't feel like calling repeatedly.

Did you do the apps back to back or did you wait a day or two in between apps ?? I did the Slate app last week and the CSP yesterday. So far no alerts or a second HP. My second app, the CSP is still being reviewed. Oh well, whatever.

If you havent received an alert yet then I will guess they used the HP from last week. I dont believe it takes that long for an alert to show up. Its usually the same day or the very next day. If I am not mistaken for recons they use the same HP as long as its within 30 days of the app. So hopefully its the same for a second app a few days later than the first app.

Keeping my fingers crossed. I might try calling the status phone number tomorrow just to see if it's been declined.

Cool. By the way, were you pre-qualified for the CSP or did you just apply?

No I was NOT prequalified for the CSP, however, I wasn't prequalified for the Slate either. I check all the lender's prequal webpages and I'm NEVER prequalified, yet I've had pretty good success. My only prequalified offer came on Cap One prequal webpage after I had my QS a month and the statement closed. Prior to that day, I showed no offers even at Cap One. I checked the "opt out" website too and I'm definitely "opt in".
I believe because I hadn't used ANY credit for almost 8 year's, and my scores were terrible (mid 500's), I wasn't getting any offers. I pulled my CR's in January and took out a few secured cards. Since than, my scores have taken off, all going over 700, with EX at 790. I'm hoping now I'll start receiving offers.

My history is 4 months old..almost five. I have only ever received offers from chase and discover. Amex didnt find any but i apped and got approved. Cap1 only gives me the secured card still. unreal, even after the cards I have. They must be really stingy...or maybe it just takes a while. Maybe once I get past 6 months.

Any news on your CSP? Was it approved? Ever get an alert? If not, im sure they used the same HP.
