Denied by Victoria's Secret...

I got the itchy finger again and applied for a Victoria's Secret Credit Card. I thought my chances were good because I was just approved for an Express credit card and they are both issued by WFNNB...boy was I wrong. Got the good old "7-10" message. I even called in and the lady told me that the approval is not always instant...yeah right lady!

So fustrated with myself right now. My credit isgood, no baddies and I've been approved for good cards tthe last two months. Just concnerned now for the inquiries...sucks!! There needs to be an app addiction group on here cause I'll sign up! LOL!!!!

I am going into the garden...I promise! NO MORE APPS..atleast for the remainder of this year. Pray for me ya'll!

Well the lady is right, approvals aren't always instant. Sometimes the 7-10 day message means they need to verify something, it doesn't mean you are declined. When I applied for Zync I got a 7-10 day message and I ended up being approved and I had 0 inquiries at the time. I mean, that would be your 3rd card in two months. It could be towards inquiries but you never know until you get the letter.

Don't sweat it yet. You could always call the backdoor number.

What's the recon number for Victoria's Secret? I was unaware that there was one. If I was denied, it's probably inquries. I have alot now.... about 6.

thats weird, i had a lower score then you and about 12 inq's and was approved for a victoria secret card... maybe it's like the other poster said and they need verification.

Juan123....was your approval Instant? I got the 7-10 message which normally for me means DENIED. I mean back in the day before Instant approval I know you could apply and the card would come in the mail or the denial letter, but now they usually approve you instantly or you get a message like I did with Discover to call in to expedite my application etc...and I got approved.

yea it was instant, approved online.

That's what I figured....Oh well, I guess I'll have to wait for the letter to find out why. The only thing I can think of is the inquiries.....I have no baddies, my utilzation is low. I'm more fustrated with myself for the inquiry. I just hope I gain the points back that I've lost due to inquiries over the next few months.

Welcome... You are in the club with a lot of us.... We have moments of weakness but you have to think about the overall big picture. You dont want all those inquiries on yoru credit report. Just chill in the garden with a bottle of wine and let time be your BFF.

WFFNB works with a 3rd party verification company and MANY times it goes over to them.... if you don't get the questions correct online it will go over to them to call you... usually comes in letter if they are not able to reach you when they call.

i got the 7-10 day message and i was later approved. i didnt have to call or anything, the card came within a week, even with a paid judgment and multiple lates between 30 and 120 days from a year ago. dont give up just yet.

I hope the 7 to 10 message is just a fluke for you and the card comes in the mail. Thank you for posting this though. After I get an additional secured card I definitely will be gardening before applying for a VS card.

Hey everyone! Sorry I'm getting responding late..just got back on!

You know what...I think the fact that I JUST got the Express card Saturday might be the reason. Maybe they do wanna see how well I do with that. However, hearing that someone else got the 7-10 message and got a card in the mail is encouraging. Anyway it goes, I'm okay. VS will be my last app for atleast six months to a year depending on credit limit increases I may/may not get on the other new cards I have. The Express card hit my credit report today and I just got it Saturday....I was surprised because the Capital One card I got in January still has not reported. They said it will by the 20th. But I was happy to see the Express card because it helped my utlization...I was at 84% (only had two cards with very small limits), and now it's at 40% and my credit score went up a few points.

Whether I get a denial letter or the card I will certainly post back and let you know!

Correct me if I am wrong but victoria secrets is one of the cards that you can get pre-approval for by putting something in your cart and then acting like you are going through the process of checking out and it will usually pop up you have been approved for $amount. Its managed by WFNNB so usually you will get whether you are approved or not through a soft pull.
