Hi everyone!

I have been rebuilding and my goal is to get a Chase credit card. I want Freedom and eventually a CSP. If I have to start with a Slate and do a product change I'm fine with that too. I have done everything I can to get the lates/repo removed but it seems like all I can do now is wait and they will all fall off between 2018 and 2020. I can't use the prequal page because I am opted out right now. What are my chances getting a card? Which one should I apply for? Do I even have a chance?

My FICO scores are: EQ:658, TU:686, EX:697

Oldest open credit line is 8 yrs

Util: 1%

Account mix is good with 20-23 accounts

I have banked with Chase for several years but no major money in the accounts.

AAoA: 3 years

Inq: 3

My Accounts:

I have a mortgage opened in 2009

Cap one $3000 limit - opened 2/2015

Cap One $1600 Limit - opened 10/2012

BOA secured $500 - opened 2/2015

Auth user on CSP $23000

Baddies:

37-43 lates (all over 3 years old) Mix of Conn's, Santander (auto loans), Nissan (auto loan), Wells Fargo ( mortgage)

Nissan repo (shows CO/$0 balance on TU and EX, shows outstanding balance of $7K on EQ)

how many times have you sent goodwill letters? I know it seems like a battle in vain, but it takes incredible patience and persistence to mail those letters out every week. I really think with that many lates the odds will be against you with Chase.

Chase is one of those banks that don't take AU into consideration either. CSP has a $5k starting CL and a $4k spend bonus meet which is geared for higher spending. In all honesty I don't think they will issue you a CSP off the bat without you having a current $5k card of your own and with that many baddies showing on the report.

I have called all three companies except the repo and sent emails. They all do account investiagtions, etc but I always get the same answers. When I look at this forum I don't see anyone having good results with them either :-(. I have to admit I havent been a GW soldier sending out constant letters but I guess that's just because I haven't seen anyone else succeeding with those companies either.

Your scores seem good enough for Freedom. You also bank with them, I would try it out and if you get denied you can always recon which they can be good about.

Santander is unbelievably stubborn with good wills, I can't even recall hearing of any success with them.

Have you tried the Chase prequlifier or are you opted out?

not to be rude but if you had to go through santander then that's not good and chase probably is so far in the future for you that you need to worry about paying off what you have and getting other cards just to use that you want

Those Santander loans originated in 2005 and have been paid off since 2011. I don't have anything to pay off. Those are the card limits, not how much I owe. My utilization is 1%. I pay in full each month.

No prob :-)

And, no, I no longer can see the JDB inquiry on my report, so maybe it was a soft pull? It created an alert on MYFICO monitoring but I can't see it showing up anywhere else.
