NEWBIE... Chances for getting AMEX Everyday.. Question on CL

TU 770 EXP 721 EQ 734

Looking to take advantage of 0% APR for 15 months. Have a Capital One card with 7k CL or therabout and only have 1700$ on it. I have a wedding coming up and expecting to put another couple k on the card and am wondering what my CL would be like? Can i expect to have at least or about the same as my current Cap One card?? I dont want to apply take a hit on credit pull only to find out I dont have any room after my transfer to make any purchases due to a low limit. I know no one can give an exact answer but looking for a decent guess or explanation on how this works. I appreciate it.

Usually AmEx doesn't give out limits under $1,000.

HOWEVER, they may be offering a ___months for 0% APR but AmEx still hates when people carry balances. So just be careful. If you need a card with 0% APR for a few months, I'd suggest Chase Slate or sometimes Chase Freedom offers a 0% APR period.

Welcome to MyFico. It will all come down to your credit profile and your current limits. Is CAP 1 your only credit card? If not, what are your limits on the other cards? Your credit limit on a new card if approved is determined by your credit limits on your cards.

Yes it's my only card.

Regarding first reply to my post, I was under impression that this card is marketed as one in which paid in full each month is not required. More like a beginners AMEX for lack of better words .

Amex typically likes thin files. You will get approved for an Amex revolver with a decent starting limit of more than $1,000 and you will also get approved for a charge card if that is the route you prefer.

Whichever you decide, report back with results.

Then apply for the Amex card. You should be fine.

It is online or via snal mail? Amex offers are often solid. Process is simple like any other application. 60 seconds process...

I received that same offer and asked the representative about it. He said "American express does not have pre approved cards. We have pre selected cards that are special offers that are extended to certain individuals." So take that how you please. Good luck with the app, let me know how it works out. I'll be applying for it in the next few weeks

Correct. No bank has pre- approved cards. They do however send out special offers after soft pulling potential customers hence offers in one's mailbox.

WOO HOO! Yeah with those scores I knew you could get that.

Hopefully you got the targeted 250 back after spending 1k offer (although im not sure how that would work with having a balance transfer, still should be 0 for 15.

You should hurry up and apply for the PRG. If you can afford to spend $333/mo for the next 3 months and pay it off every month, you could get 50k mr points really easily.....

Hey guys thanks for all the info and help. I have been busy lately but wanted to come back and say that. I will say that I think my limit reflects that I was able to use my HOUSEHOLD income that was available to me. I was able to use my fiancee's income along with mine. Aside from that I was nervous to go through with everything but once I did I was obviously relieved. Hope this helps someone out that might be on the fence.

I will definitely read up on the 3X CLI ASAP.
