Chase PreApproval

I went to preapproval for Chase and got this prompt..

We are unable to locate any offers for you at this time.

"This may be because you have opted out of "prescreened" offers from Chase
and other companies or you have recently responded to another offer from Chase."

Is this basically a nice way of denying application??

A pre approval is not the same as an application. That message simply means that either you aren't pre approved for any of their cards, or you're opted out of pre screened offers. But either way that doesn't mean you can't get approved if you were to apply.

Most likely something in your credit report is a red flag for the automated system and its auto declining you.

For the record, the only place pre qualify works for me is Capital One.. never worked with Chase and I was just approved for the Slate & CSP with excellent limits. So I wouldn't put too much stock in the Chase Pre Qualify site.

@They changed as my score changed. At first it was the QS @ 17.9, V1 @ 16.9 and Platinum Prestige @ 15.9 .. then as my score got better it was the Venture @17.9 and QS @ 17.9 if I chose the travel rewards, or QS @ 17.9 and V1 @ 16.9 if I chose cash... then as my score went over 800 it became Venture @ 12.9 and QS @ 12.9.

EDIT: Funny thing, since I did my app spree resulting in 1 HP on each report, and my Barclaycard Ring just started reporting (the day after I apped!!) on EQ and EX, and I just tried the cap1 pre qual again to check it out and now they're back up to 17.9%... I'm not worried about it though, I'm not going for the Cap1 3HP's to get one of their cards I doubt I'll use.
