I don't need a card for BT. I want 1 card with Chase for a high SL. And then I am going to apply for a Discover.

I had several Chase cards when I was younger and never had a problem with them. They gave me SL from $5000-7400.

I don't think I'll spend $4000 in the first three months. But I do want a card with rewards.

I don't know what, but I really want to apply now. But I would prefer to wait until my scores are in the 790-800+.

But I think reading other people's approvals is causing me to want to also do it. Maybe I should step away from Myfico.com for a while.

Suggesstions...which card?

It would help to know what cards you presently have. The Chase Pre-qual site is pretty accurate. I got my Freedom first then apped for the CSP a month later and got it. Some people are able to get them both at the same time I've read. They are a great combo being used together. If it's something you really want and there is no reason to garden because of something big coming up, like a mortage for example, I say go for it! My CSP does look good in my wallet

I wouldn't want two cards from them only 1 along with a Discover.

Going to buy a house next year probably in the summer.

Do the CSP if you don't mind the annual fee. The starting limit for the card is $5,000. However, if you can't justify the annual fee then do the Freedon card. Whatever you do, report back with results.

Agreed. and do it as soon as you can. if you are buying a house. you want to be far away from your last application. even if that is 12 months from now. Good luck.

Well the CSP is only really useful with certain spend and with travel. You can cash out at full value with the points but there's no point in paying $95 for a 2% dining/travel card with 1% elsewhere.

If you're annual fee averse, you could go for Freedom but it is very similar to Discover reward wise....so might be best to simply choose another lender/card to go along with your Discover if Chase has nothing that suits your needs. Remember just because you're prequalified doesn't mean you have to choose a product from Chase.

I know this, but I don't want to apply for anything with Cap1 since I don't want three HPs.

And I realize that the Freedom card is very similar to Discover.
