VentureOne is easier but you could just hold out until your profile supports what you actually WANT, as opposed to just going for what you know you can get.

VentureOne is IMO a terrible card, 1.25% redeemable only for travel when there are many free cash back cards offering higher return with no restrictions on what you redeem. This same argument applies to the Venture, but with Venture One it is even worse. Garden and grow your profile until you can get what you want IMO.

I've never understood why anybody would want a VentureOne, which gives 1.25% that can only be put towards travel charges when they can get a QuickSilver that gives 1.5% that is redeemable as a statement credit (or even a check).

Heck, even a QuickSilver One - with the annual fee - could be a better deal than the Venture One depending on the level of spending.

^i suppose the fact that it has no AF makes it a bit more attractive than the regular Venture. What I see happening a lot around here is that people get the venture, meet spend and get the bonus, and then PC to Venture One before AF hits.

Oh I agree. Not saying I justify that behavior lol. Merely an observation and stating possible reasons why someone would get the Venture One.

So what's the benefit of a Venture card apart from getting a high CL if you're not a big traveler?

Also is the three CRA pull worth it and standard? Does Cap1 always pull all three?

I just don't see three pulls being worth it even for a $10,000 CL at CAp1's high APR.

They basically always triple pull and there is no real benefit beyond the bonus for anyone, traveler or not, since you can get 2% unrestricted and free with other cards.

I was PCed to the Venture One last year. I think that card started off being owned by another company and Cap 1 purchased them about 2 years ago so I guess I was lucky for it to be converted. I prefer the One because it doesn't have an A/F. I have the regular QuickSilver (not A/F). Both of them are approaching $10K so I'm good with them.

VentureOne has a 0% period when the Venture does not.

No AF is why I applied for mine and I was to chicken to apply for the Venture.

Kinda wish I would have just to see what the SL would have been.
