Want a AAdvantage Card

Hi Folks,

I need to apply for a Barclays AAdvantage mileage or a Citi AAdvantage miles card to get free first checked bag. What are the odd's of me getting approved?

Experian 711

Equifax 705

TU 703

Credit Usage app 49% and income 125K

Reason of applying is, I have to fly everyweek for work and will need to carry extra baggage, else do not need.

Would appreciate an honest feedback.

Actually, the Barclays Aviator cards are not available to new applications. The Citi AAdvatange cards are available, there are three personal and 1 business version to choose from.

Right but I didn't see a link anywhere to apply. Plus it no longer shows up on their website list of cards.

As stated, your only option for a new AA card is through Citi.

The Barclays cards are not an option for you. Barclays serviced US Airways's credit card, and when US Airways and American merged, the Barclays cards all converted and they stopped accepting applications for them. Citi's contract with American Airlines is more than likely the reason that the Barclays cards can't be applied for.

get the Citi AAdvantage card, I got it approved with a very low score (600s). Citi was very generous too to start me 4000 CL, 0% APR for 15 months. Look around there's a promo going on for 50K bonus, I jumped on this and already got my miles.

Guys thanks for your input. I applied for the Citi AAdvantage Platinum card and got instant approval for $5600.00.

Once I get this one I will atleast not have to pay for baggage and get priority boarding.
