Will being added as an authorized user for a CSP(10,200 CL) help me get a chase card, specifically the southwest card. I would like to get back into the good graces of Chase. About 5 years ago I had two charge-offs; 1 from CapOne and one from Chase. I have had a great relationship with CapOne for the past year now but I have tried twice to get a chase card and both times ended in denial. My girlfiriend put me on as an AU on her CSP in hopes that I will be able to get back into their good graces. Bottom line, am I screwed with their company forever? Thank you for your help!

It is unlikely that being added as an AU will get you back in with Chase at this point in time. From Chase's point of view, your charge off is too fresh to give you another chance. You're not screwed forever, but it will take a while.

As Irish has said have you paid them back? If not pay them back and hopefully that is the first step in mending your relationship.. Think of it this way if someone didn't pay you back, would you lend them money again? Best of luck!

Chase has a long memory. It's can take many many years for them to forgive. Took me 19 years to get in after a charge off in a small product that Chase bought out. Will it take you that long? Probably not but the only way to know if you're back in their good graces is to apply every year or so and then recon and plead your case. Paying them back though is a good start.

Sorry OP, no chance anytime in the foreseeable future especially since they took a loss. As CAPTOOL, Irish and CreditCuriosity mentioned above, being an AU doesn't circumvent the UW process or improve the chance for approval. Some folks are eventually able to reestablish the relationship but it takes a long time and depends on the circumstances. Needless to say, Chase has a very long memory.

So, no Chase doesn't hate you. But they certainly didn't bode well with the loss.

Chase very long memory. Capitalone very forgiving even if they have a memory they dont hold it on u.

May 2013 when i joined myfico, i had a bk from 2004 reporting and recently i looked back on denial letters from places like us bank discover and barlcays, my scores were in the 660s. I tried to recon with chase on a slate, the analyst said i can see u burned us on a united visa ans slate visa but that was nearly 9 years ago, its not holding us back. Get utilization down and reapply in 6 months.

Your situation at 5 years is recent but since paid i think like others have said, go the analyst manual review route and be ready to plead your case.
