Just apped for Amazon Store Card - asked for verification

Just apped for Amazon Store Card - asked for verification, I called in and verified my info and they sent me a text authentication code.

They then said my app needs further processing 3-7 days? Approval, denial?

My FICO is 656 and my TU tracker has said it's gone up about 10 pts since then (not FICO) so it is still that or higher. Utility is at 7%

What do you guys think? Do I just wait or can I call in again and do anything to push the issue?

It happened to me for Gap Visa. It was denied. I got the letter. They weren't able to identify my identity.

Could go either way. The score itself is fine for the card.

I applied with scores a little higher than yours and got flat out denied, So hopefully it's just verification. I've seen people with lower scores get in. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

The Synchrony verification is a fairly new thing they do when you use a cell phone number in your application. While verification is usually as good thing with most lenders, It has no bearing on whether or not you're approved with Synchrony.

I was just approved for the Chase Freedom card 2 weeks ago no questions. asked. Apped for the Amazon Visa thru Chase on Saturday and received a denial after calling in for verification. Good luck!

Two different lenders for the Store Card and the Visa. Store card is through Syncrony

+1 apples to oranges. I can understand with chase. but with Synchrony wow.

Thanks... I don't have any Synchrony accounts yet so I sure hope I get in. I've been wanting this card forever!

Thanks. I have baddies from 2011/12 but they are all paid. Other than that, I have a paid collection from just over 1 year ago. How about yours? I hate waiting but I know its better than being flat out declined.

2 Collections from 2010 (not paid)

1 collection should be deleted within 60 days and I'm waiting for Capital One to remove the charge off.

I was approved for Wal-Mart, JCPennys, and Amazon the same day early June.

Requested an increase 2 weeks ago..

Walmart 400 > 3500

JcPennys 500 > 3500

Amaazon 600 > 3500

All increased through chat.

When I recently got Care Credit (also through Syncrony) they made me go through the 'verification' stuff as well, including giving me a toll-free number to call for the text message, etc. I was approved after I was able to confirm the text.

Just a few days earlier, I was 'instapproved' for the Sam's Mastercard (yet another Synchrony) and no verification was necessary.

It appears it's a YMMV kind of thing.
