Another PenFed EQ pull?

On 8/17 penfed pulled EQ for my credit card app- resulting in 2 instant approvals for cards.

I decided I wanted to open an Access America checking account, called them and they they did it on the phone, easy breezy.

So i log into penfed and I have a hard time with self control, so I apply for one more card, thinking that the pull from my cards last week will be used like usual. Well I was declined the 3rd card, not a big deal just had to get it out of my system lol.

So do you thnik the 2nd pull came from the checking account even though I have had a PenFed membership since early 2014 or they pulled me again to say dont app for any more cards? weird the checking would result in another pull though.

I just pulled an eq report and penfed pulled me on 8/17 and 8/26.

Well, I'm just guessing here, but would one have to call in to talk to a rep and ask them to leverage the prior HP to make the CC/Loan app? I'm not sure how a cold app would know that a HP existed in the user file. It's possible, but I'm not sure it's done that way.

The checking account was probably in this method: You were talking with a rep, so they knew to use the HP on file, easy cheezy.

i get what you mean. I called csr for two reasons. I needed help closing a share account that had no money in it and i needed to see why it said restricted next to checking account application.

i assumed the hard pull was in the system, she never said anything about pulling credit for doing it. I just thought she was doing me a solid and just opening it up for me.

otherwise i really didnt need it for a hard pull but ill chuck it off to experience for next time.

I should have asked her, I didnt even think to ask her. she was so nice, reversed the fee from the ach thing i did wrong, closed the share account i didnt want.

i didnt think to ask her any questions, a duh on me. I guess maybe because on their website it says, qualified customers, this checking account can be a line of credit.

but i dont use products like that really, unless im missing out on something lol.

The checking account shows up on my page but no where does it talk about the line of credit. Im assuming i didnt qualify?

Give it about a week before your CC accounts show up.
