Applied for US Bank Harley Davidson Secured CC

Just sent my application online to US Bank for the Harley Davidson Secured Credit Card with a $300 deposit.

After I hit "Submit" I got a msg saying "We are unable to make a decision about your application at the moement, we will send you a letter via USPS regarding our decision in 7-10 business days"..

I really don't know how to feel about that.. Did anyone get approved instantly or is this the way they review applications?

I really hope to get approved for that card, it's going to be my second secured credit card for the next year or two (along with Capital One Secured Card)..

Any input is truly appreciated..

They normally review secured applications manually from what I understand. Also it may be declined if you have a bankruptcy or charged off accounts.

The whole purpose of a credit review for a secured card is to prevent any potential losses by the bank that will be holding your deposit.

Would kinda suck for them if you had a line of credit in use, then another CO/CA comes back seeking your assets, taking your deposit by legal means (from the secured cc bank), and leaving them holding the "loss," then trying to go after you for it. The costs would outweight the initial cost of a CR pull.

When my dad applied for a US Bank cc onloine it said you can insert your e-mil to be notified if approved. So he did and got the approval notification 4 dys later. He got the same message after insertig his e-mail. Did you provide them with an e-mail address?

I am hopeful that you will get it.. I just was approved for US Bank card and it showed the same message for me. 2 week later, they deducted $300 isout of my account and sent the card. Wishing you luck!

I totally forgot about applying for their card a few weeks ago. At the time of applying I got a 'can't approve - under review' message. Never received a letter or email and yesterday the money was taken from my bank account so I guess we'll see what happens.

Bumping this thread to ask those who have gone the full year if your secured HD card has graduated to an unsecured and if you can provide details on how this was done and what the CL was. Thanks.

I found out that US Bank ironically doesn't serve all of the US.. I live in Massachusetts and they don't accept applicants that live here. Got the 2-3 day message when my credit was a lot younger and then a denial due to living outside their chartered zone. Just something to keep in mind if you live in a state without a US Bank presence.

Texas is not one however their HD card is available for everyone and this card caught my eye for the no annual and possibility to graduate but have not seen a post of someone actually getting one.

I have the Harley Davidson credit card everyone gets the 7-10 day message. There very conservative.

I have one of the secured Harley cards, had it for just over a year, no lates and no problems with the card. Placed over $7000 through it in that time period. I went on the website and asked the same question about it being graduated. This is the reply I received.

Good afternoon and thank you for contacting U.S. Bancorp Service Center, Inc. via our Website.

We understand, ****, you are inquiring about how you may upgrade to an unsecured account. We would be happy to assist. When you would like to have your account considered for an upgrade to an unsecured account, please contact our twenty-four-hour Cardmember Service Department at 800-699-2281. A representative would be happy to assist you in submitting your request. If the upgrade request is approved, you will receive your new card within seven to ten business days of the request date. You will also receive a check for the secured deposit, plus any interest, within ten to fourteen business days.

I have not made the call yet, still have some other things to take care of before I do, but at least I know the proceedure now.

It's how you use any card that affects score. Not how long you had it. Or what kind of card it is. Keep utilization low and scores will go up always. Month after month.

I live in Dallas,Texas and after reading up on the forum trying to figure a way into US BANK, I applied for the 123 Kroger card (HUGE presence here) & it was instantly approved. A couple of months later I opened a basic checking account (no minimum balance - no monthly fee - no minimum direct deposit), and then went straight for the Cash Plus....and instantly approved !

In hindsight I think it all was because I applied for a co-branded, then opened checking, followed by a premium card that is typically offered in a branch or phone. But after having the first 2 steps complete, the window for options I didn't see prior to having the checking relationship were (and still are) present.

I applied for the regular card and a pop up came up said your approved for a hd secured 5000 dollar limit havent

rrecieved a email or card. Never ask me for checking account or nothing.
