I got declined for BoA cash rewards card :(

so i applied for for boa cash rewards card to see if i will get approved for it since i got the freedom in my wallet i got turned down my feelings was hurt lol i got the secure verison of it plus my scores are great and records are clean so it confused me. I have the freedom, boa, and barclays card.

Ps. can someone help me step by step with showing my cards on there.

I was declined for a US Bank cash+, but after sending a written letter they sent me a cash rewards visa. Not sure if BofA will work with you but it's worth a shot!

I was also turned down for regular B of A card but got the secured version. Hoping to graduate to unsecured within 12 months.

What were your scores / AAoA / Inquiries / etc. at the time of the application? This way we have some data points for reference

Any recently opened new accounts? That could also be a factor.

If I were you, i'd try the Sr. Credit Analyst Number listed on the Backdoor Numbers thread.

What are your stats? We can maybe give you an idea of why they denied you.

Well my transunion fico score is 724, and My experian score is 699 dont know my equifax score my inquires for trans is 8 and my exp is 8 and my equifax is 8 as well

Do you know what your Utilization % is at right now? If it's too high that could be a factor. Also are your current accounts really new like less than 6 months old?

When my boa cash rewards and barclays reported on sept 8 it was 7% but the chase card hasnt reported yet since its a new account and that will bring it down to 3% do you think because of my new accounts i close my old crap account since they couldnt give me what i asked for i had a secure card with them for 3 years and the quicksliver mastercard for 1 year. These accounts that i have are really new boa 2 months and barclays 3 so maybe i should wait lol.

I have been denied by BOA 2 times. It was for there secured card when I didnt have any. I had been banking with them since 2002 so I was pretty mad. But one day I will get a Alaska airlines card from them.

Do you have a bad history with them, like from a previous default?

It seems like your scores would support a CC now.

Sorry to hear your denied with BofA , ironrically i was just decding to apply for the BofA rewards and did the pre check for customized offers, but know im having cold feet ,lol

it came back recommand Travel rewards, also recommanded 4 others they had .. how solid is BofA on there recommanded offers when you pre check ??

Boa pre qual is one of the most inaccurate pre quals out there. Take with grain of salt.
