Barclay recon advice?

Applied for Barclay Rewards, declined... Called to recon/ still a big NO. My stats are TU 661, 9 inquiries (5 from car shopping), 1 closed med collection, 100% on time payments, 7% utilization. Reason for decline Insufficient credit history. My Discover and Capital one cards are not quite a year old... Very nice lady at Barclay told me I needed to wait a little longer. She said another 6 monthes would probably do it. I wanted to know if I should call again or just wait the 6 months? I mean I already wasted a hard pull...

I would call back again to Recon. I have had the most success calling late at night. For some reason the UW are more relaxed and willing to listen. Emphasize your current payment habits, low utiliz and fact that a lot of the recent Inq were related to shopping around for an auto loan. Good Luck!

Barclays have a preapproval link now, I tried it and got approved with a EX 617 score, didnt pull transunion for me. However, I am in Florida if that makes a different. I do have 6 months of credit history since my BK7 in January though. hope this helps

Hmmmm... I'm in Florida, too. And they pulled TU. My EX is about the same, so that wouldn't make a difference. I might call again and see if I can get a better answer. I feel funny calling. I know they can only say NO, but I hate to hear it
