Amex blue cash everyday (Reconsidering after call)

I applied for Amex blue cash everyday on 08/16 and it was declined, i called up today and they said they would go thru manual process but will include a hard pull again.. I said yes

Hope it gets approved..

FICO (As per disc : 580) Credit karma scores (Trans 694/EQ 697)...

Good luck! It's a very useful card to have when starting out(, I am keeping mine)!

It gets really early CLI and quickly graduates through progressive CLI's. I went from 4500 to max exposure in less than 18 months. This almost forces other creditors to offer you bigger starting credit limits.

If your EX Fico score is in the same range as your TU Fico of 580, the odds are not good.

I had Costco Amex card for 2 years (till 2013 April) and had to cancel it before i travelled to my home country, I only have 1 late payment of 30 days on it, other wise all the payments were on time.. the reason my credit score went down was i cancelled all my cards ( I didnt know the impact on credit score at that time)...

Would that help any bit

Most of the folks on here who get approved for the BCE/BCP self-report an EX FICO of the high-600s or better. Your Credit Karma might be close, or it could be wildly off... there's no way to tell without actually checking it. To add a data point, my own EX FICO was 695 when I was approved.

I'm not going to discourage you, because at this point it's out of your hands anyway and you've done all the legwork that can be done to get the approval (which I commend!) This being said, don't be discouraged or disappointed if the news isn't exactly what you want to hear. It all comes down to you never really know until you try, and although you can generally get a pretty good idea by reading the threads here what your chances might be, everybody's different, and the only way to tell for certain is to just apply.

I'm no Amex underwriter, but I would think that would make quite a bit of difference! It's not like you're coming in 'fresh' - you have history with them, and they should take that into account. Many folks on here make references to Amex's 'Internal Score', and the fact that there's something they can go back and take a look at will likely help.

Honestly... until you told us this, I didn't have much hope for your approval, but now I'm genuinely interested to see how it all turns out!

hopefully your ex is a lot higher than your TU. They denied me in April with a 645 ex then approved me in July with a 709 ex.

You should get your EX score as that's what they used. The BCE I would say you would need a score fairly close to 700

Don't be discouraged... just work on your file a bit, and try again in a few months!

FWIW, most folks who get approved for the Blue cards on here report having minimum scores toward the high end of the 600s. My own score was 695 when mine was approved.

I just applied for the AMEX blue tonight and was approved with a $4200 credit limit. My score is 749, highest card limit $7500 and total credit limits of $23k . I'm excited to add this to my credit card portfolio!
