NASA Application

Today I apped for a NASA membership and a cc. For the membership status is says "referred". For the CC I got an email shortly after apping, it said your cc application has been approved. There was no credit limit in the email. Does anyone have on any insight on what this means?

Of course, you will need to be approved as a member to get the CC.

IIRC, they had me upload my DL and a utility bill to prove identity.

I think it took a day or so to get that done.

My biggest problem was that during the membership app, I elected to make my deposit using PayPal and it never brought up the PayPal screens. So my memebership wa approved, pending initial share deposit. I had to send my initial share deposit of 20 outside of the app process. I dont know what other methods were available but I sent a BillPay from my bank, so it was a check when they received it. They held it for 10 business days after receiving it, so super long process for me.

I wasnt ready to app for the CC, so just the membership and it was a SP.

When you get the email for a secured message, you could probably ask them about the CC approval at that time.

NASA has been wonderful, IMO.

They don't always move at super fast speeds, but any time I've had a question or challenge, I've contacted them via online chat and it has been resolved quickly.

ETA: Documents and approvals have usually been emailed to me the day after approval. CL is normally listed on them.

Thanks for the info. I just received an email wanting me to upload verifaction of address. Maybe thats all they needed.

I believe NASA varies on response time and detailed info from person to person. My experience seemed to be somewhere in the middle for initial approval, while others took a long time to get it going.

8/13 - Applied for membership, went into Pending.

8/18- Request for verification via Upload, info sent.

8/21- Membership approved, Member number given. App'd for the PC rewards card, instant approval. Called to confirm how to deposit since Paypal not accepted anymore (yea, they haven't updated their site). They referred me to setting up my online ebranch and making a transfer from "another institution", but at this point I still had not deposited and was approved/funded.

8/22- setup transfer for savings, took 3 business days.

8/31-Still within 30 days from initial SP so app'd for PLOC, instant approval.

Hopped back into the garden until 2016.

Your best bet is to contact them via phone and/or chat, as they've been very helpful and pleasant. Just note that they're EST.

How much PLOC did you get approved for and at what rate if you don't mind sharing

@Hypass33, in response to your question, I was approved for $8k @9.25% (I asked for 25k since I was certain I'd receive a counter offer). The access line is great for emergencies but getting to it is the tricky part, so I went ahead and opened a checking account for direct access, having it linked as an overdraft.

Wow, that is very strange. I'd definitely give them a call when they're open (eastern time). Have them send you the docusign forms and it will state the amount for the ploc. Good luck and congrats on the approval.

I did an app for a membership last month, no HP.

Did you get a HP for either the CC or the PLOC?

I am considering doing an app for a CC with them.

I got a HP for my CC app even though I apped the same day as membership.

Did you app for CC first and then membership? This usually results in HP.

Membership then CC tends to be two SPs.

Any experience or guess as to what will happen with a CC app now, after the membership app in June?

I am guessing a HP now, great if it isnt though.
