I really want the American Express No annual fee card.. question!

I just applied for a target credit card and was instantly approved for 3k! yay! I read they gave really low credit limits. I was expecting to get a 500 limit. Was suprised to get 3k!

Anyways... I am really looking into getting the American Express no annual fee card that I keep getting offers in the mail for. It includes $250 after $1k spent which is pretty nice. I would definitely use it with all the offers I've been seeing others get that I'm missing out on..

Question is.. since I already applied and have been approved for the target today, would it be a bad idea to shoot for another cc so soon? Should I be gardening for a year?

AMex pulls from Ex. Do you know what credit bureau target used? If not EX and you don't have too many inquiries/baddies and good credit score then you have good chances of getting the Amex cards. Just recently got 2 Amex cards (BCP and PRG) ...

No clue what target pulls.

I think the only inquries would be this one today for target and one for the electric bill in my name back in .. july. I have 752 credit score for Fico but no clue on the others.

& I'm so jealous! I would love the blue cash preferred but I hate the thought of $75 annual fee. I'm not sure if I would make enough rewards back to counter it. 6% cash back from supermarkets does sound nice though..

I applied in the store, I wonder if that made a difference? Or is Target actually credit limit friendly and I'm feeling lucky for nothing? :-P

Go ahead and apply for the Amex. It looks as if Target is beginning to looses up a bit (TD Bank). They have been giving out CLI's as well. I used to love my red card when I was employed with them. The discount I received I could not beat it. Although my limit stayed at 500 even when my scores was so much better.

I recently appd through Desert Schools Federal Credit Union and got a cash rewards Amex w/no fee through them. Not sure if it's what you want but it might be worth looking into.

Apply for the Amex, you'll be fine as long as you qualify.

When my friends come to me asking about the credit card game I always tell them to go for 5 cards (DC, Freedom, Discover, BCE or ED, PRG) to start and I specifically instruct them to apply in a certain order placing the Amex cards last. I also haven't had any problems applying with 15-20 inquiries showing on EX.

With your fico and very low inquiries, you shouldn't have a problem getting an Amex or any other cards out there. Congrats on the Target approval.

You're not feeling lucky for nothing. Target is notorious for handing out toy limits in the $200 to $300 range. You rocked it with your app.

Which cards are DC, BCE or ED, PRG?

Thanks for all your replies! I'm going to apply for it today. Hopefully I'm not too late. ( I read when you apply for multiple cards, you should do them back to back? )

.. I'm sure there are a lot of other cards I'm not aware of that would be great to have. I'm just now finding out that Chase ink offers 5% cash back for office supplies , cellphone, landline, internet and cable tv services. @_@ And I just spent $700 at staples with a 1% credit card.
