Boo... got the dreaded 7-10 day message... Was just approved for Walmrt & Cap 1 QS last week.. Maybe I tried too many within a short period. I will try again one day...

what's your TU fico? how many inquiries, new accounts? any derogs? what card did u apply for of theirs?

TU Fico-630, 1 derog-only inquiries were Walmart & Cap 1QS approved for both

Sorry for denial.. maybe work on reports and scores and u should be able to app again in 6mths...
Don't give up...just garden and work on baddies you could end up w/better approval apr and or SLs.

Depending on what card you went for that score may be too low for approval.

I'd say that's very borderline for a Barclays approval, and your chances were even lessened by having the two very recent inquiries on there. I've seen 650 mentioned as low tier for Barclay rewards or their Apple card.

Try the SCT on LL Bean or NFL store. That's how I got my foot in the door with Barclays. I got pre-approval popups on both of those sites.

Both of the cards you have listed above are by Barclay's. If the OP did not get the rewards MC, I really don't see them getting approved for either of those cards. The NFL and Rewards have almost the same underwriting to be approved. The only other thing I can think of is to call the Barclay recon. The two cards you have gotten approved for, are they your only cards you have in your portfolio?

I have many other cards with other lenders. SCT just to see if you get a popup costs you nothing but a couple minutes of time.

Anyhow I should have said - you should first call Barclay and try to recon. My second approval with them came from a successful recon.

First...Are these your only other CC's?? Do you have any other cards reporting ?The reason I ask is because, Barclays likes to see a minimum of 6 months of history reporting with another card first. The 630 might be very borderline. I was approved with a 635 for the rewards MC awhile back with tons of baddies and a BK. They are very recon friendly. I would try to salvage the HP and call into recon, and state your case. Even ask for a $500 SL to prove yourself. Always recon a denial

Per my usual, since you took the HP, I say recon. I don't know which Barclay card you applied for, but both the Reward and NFL card are considered "fair" cards by Barclay (and other sites), so if you applied for either of those cards, your score should've been good enough. I'd do the recon, and see what they say.

As others have said: recon it! It isn't going to hurt anything toi call in and ask for them look at it again. It could just be something didn't match on their system. I got approved for their rewards card, called in and got a CLI. They wouldn't do the full amount I asked for for but they brought it up to a reasonable limit. After a few weels I apped for the Apple card and when asked how much I thought my purchase might be I clicked $2k. It gave a verification message and I called in and for some reason my SS# didn't transfer right, gave them the right number and instant approval for $2k. ALWAYS RECON, doesn't cost anything other than a phone call

I applied for the NFL card and was declined. I called in for a recon twice. Their reps were awesome to talk to, praised my payment history and both said I simply had too many new accounts. A couple of weeks later I was shopping on the Williams Sonoma site and got a pre-approval pop up for their card, also Barclays. I applied and was approved. Then, two days after that I received a "pre selected" offer in the mail from Barclays for the Rewards card. I applied and received the 'pending' message. Two days later I had an early morning approval email.

Nothing had changed on my credit report besides more inquiries. But since they were offering after the initial decline, I accepted.

I still want the NFL card. If I can manage to stop applying, maybe I'll get it next year.

I can no clue how to recon!!! Lol, but I do have a cap 1 plat, I've had it for a year. It was a $20" secured and they gave me a CLI without me asking. So now it's $550. I think I allowed my head to grow too big because the other 2 I was approved for haha! Thanks everyone!

Yes definitely recon. My first approval with them was a few weeks ago for their Rewards MC, denied at 3am, reconned at 8 am and approved with a $1000 SL. Then same day in the evening, applied for Apple Rewrds card and instant approval with SL $2K and a TU score of 641
