I went on a credit card binge as a way to utilitze some points for an upcoming expensive trip. I applied for Chase BA and Citi Prestige, got approved for both. I then added Hyatt at the end in order to earn some free hotels. This is when I ran into problem and got no answer for that. Does that mean it was rejected or do I have to give up some CL from my BA to offset the Hyatt? I will gladly do it as I got too much money on both cards.

My own opinion about Chase is it is best to just wait it out. I actually gave up after applying for the United Explorer card. About three weeks after apping I received a call verifying information. After I picked myself up from the floor I asked the limit and it was 15k. I burned Chase in 2008 with a Chapter 13 so I did my happy dance all day long.

I am sure you will hear from others in the forum then you can make your decision. Good luck!

Just wait it out. It took roughly 3 weeks for me to receive the Hyatt. They may contact you for verification within the next week. After doing so approve your application.

You may need more. But for a time there. Many didn't have any money. No jobs. At least the opportunity is there to get more. It is never enough. But things are looking up. The last time gas was 2 dollars a gallon was right after the Iraqi invasion of 2003. It's been low a while now. So things are good. And the banks have not learned a thing. I'm getting all types of mortgage offers now. No money down home loan. Might try and flip one

I went on my first app spree this summer. Adding a USAA World MC, 3 Cap One cards, Venture, Venture One and QS, 2 Amexes, Plat and PRG, and 2 BOA cards - Travel Rewards and Cash Rewards. I also added Chase slate and then wanted Freedom. I apped and was instantly approved for slate 9/02 - the first time I apped for Freedom was 9/17 - I got the 7-10 day message, called recon and was advised that they had to deny me based on the fact that they will only issue ONE chase branded product in 30 days. But I was told that I would have been approved otherwise, and that If I app again past the 30 days I should get it (but I can't make you any promises).

So I apped again for Freedom on 10/05 and got the we'll let you know within 30 days message. I fully expected it to be a denial bc of the Chase 5/24 rule, which I found about later, and of course, dumb me had left chase for last. I talked to other ppl here and they told me to let it go and that I can recon if I get denied. Well, yesterday I got a letter in the mail from chase, which I expected to be a denial.

Instead it said that someone had applied for a freedom card in my name and that if it was me please call in to continue processing my application, otherwise please call them to let them know it was fraudlent.

I called in and got a very polite woman, who asked me my name, ss #, and address. Then asked me to login to my online banking, and asked a few questions, - when was your last deposit (amount and date), and when was the last time you used your debit card - amount and date. Then proceeded to tell me that my identity was now verified and that she would place me on hold and complete the application. She came back less than 5 min later and said congratulations you're approved. The freedom card showed up in my online banking less than 30 mins later.

So yes, def wait it out.

Take care,

George
