I've seen the bonus miles for this at 50k before. Do they usually do this offer at a certain time of the year every year or do they have the special offer completely random?

I was looking at the United card when I apped for the CSP a few months ago. My research indicated that they are looking for an average of 720ish. I went with CSP because I got the pre-approval on Chase and can transfer UR points seamlessly to United.

Some people in the 640-50ish range have gotten it.. Indicators are is it is one of their easier cards to get like the SWA card. I personally think you would be fine in that score range. Obviously others factors go into play other than score such as your whole credit profile.

You will be fine as long as you haven't hit their internal limit and utilization on any given card is relatively low. As any thing with the CC thing nothing is guranteed, but I think you have a very good chance.

Dont think its that difficult to get. Was recently approved with a 720ish but I havent read much to indicate thats the ideal score for this card, have seen a few get it with lower scores. If you go for it check Uniteds website first and compare. The offer there was a bit better than whats on Chase website. GL

I let it expire at the end of February.

Then I did one of the Dining things, where you go to certain restaurants and they route some points to your FF program, in this case United. A few weeks later got another Chase United mailer for another 50,000 offer, where it specifically printed on the mailer "Congratulations ____ on recently earning miles". Well, the only place I earned miles was at a meal.

So that's two mailers in the space of a year, from basic mucking around in my MileagePlus account.

If you want to play a game, join the United MileagePlus FF program, sign up a credit card in their MileagePlus Dining program, find a restaurant near you that is in the dining program, use that CC you signed up in that dining program to pay for the meal, and score some points to your MileagePlus account. Then wait to see if you get a mailer.

I was approved for the United Explorer card and the IHG within the past two weeks. Apped United first through the targeted 50k email offer. At the time of my app I had no accounts or relationship with Chase. I had three Chase CO's back in 2008 that fell off late 2014 early 2015 and while small I know internally they must have been aware of them. App went to two week message and after a couple of days I called directly to verification backdoor number and that's all they needed. They pulled EQ at 694 and EX at 702 with 4% util across 125k in open lines and all of my accounts 15+ are newer and less than 6 months old. Had 10 or more INQ showing on both EQ and EX and they still approved this at 15k with 120k stated income. A week later they approved IHG with just an EX pull that was down to 698 but INQ up to 16 at time of app and matched the United limit. Since you've got an established relationship with Chase I would think you'd be good to go as long as you're not bumping up against any internal limit with them and your util is spread out.

My Chase cards have the following balances and limits:

CSP - $3200/$8k (this will be paid completely off in 2 weeks when I get my quarterly bonus)

Chase Freedom - 0/$1k

Chase Amazon - $175/$5k

Chase Marriott - $300/$7k

I took the advice of adding a card that I already have to the dining program on the United Airlines website and I'm just going to wait to see if they send me a special offer for the 50k miles bonus. I think it's worth waiting for that instead of applying right now and just getting the 30k miles bonus. I don't need the card right now at this minute but will need it for next year.
