5, One of them Chase Freedom. Yes I know the 5 to 2 yr rule with Chase. Guess I should expect the rejection soon enough.

DW apped for Slate was approved and then the Freedom... Freedom was declined because the slate was number 5. So there cards count too.

I would call. No need to prolong the suspense. You can get the numbers by doing a search "backdoor numbers"

There is a need to prolong the suspense with Chase. Letting it process has better results lately than calling in, but its up to you OP. Like Omar said if they need you they have your info. Maybe you'll be lucky enough to get approved despite the new rule. GL

I would wait it out. If chase needs something from you, they will let you know via mail. If its processing, let it run its course and see what happens. U can always try recon if they flat out deny u.

U can always call The Chase automated status line and get an idea of approval or decline by the message it spits out to u.

I called the status line. And it just says, " thank you for applying, your application is still being reviewed". I guess it might be a no. Sucks though, my experian score took a 7 point hit.

Well this is a conundrum. Came across the email from CHASE just now after apping for the CSP a couple of days ago. And it reads:

Thank you for submitting a credit card application to Chase.

Here's what you can expect next:

We'll let you know of our decision through U.S. mail within the next 30 days. Please don't resubmit this application while waiting for our decision.

If we approve your application, we'll send your card and other important information to you by U.S
mail. Once you receive your card, call the number on the sticker right away so you can take advantage of everything your card has to offer.

If we don't approve your application, we'll send you a letter explaining why.

Thank you for applying for a Chase credit card

From what I've been reading, the 7-10 day automated phone message means denial, and the 30 days message means approval, So why did I get an email with ," You'll hear back from us in 30 days." and the auto line says 7-10? Would love to hear feedback. Thanks

Well, got the letter in the mail just now, and all it says is, Too many credit cards opened in the last 2 years. Is there any way to recon that or should i not bother.

Nope that doesn't seem to be something that you can recon with them. They are standing fast with their new rule of 5 or more new accounts of any kind of any lender resulting in a denial for most of the Chase branded cards. That rule doesn't seem to apply for their co-branded cards though such as Amazon, Marriot, Hyatt, United, SWA etc.

More than 5 cards in 2 years auto denial this has been mentioned on these forums many times. Don't bother with recon. Sorry to hear, DOA IMO.
