Capital One is auto-declining me for another card

Not that this is really a big deal, but I applied for my two cap1 sub primes in August right before my discharge, was approved and have even been given an extra cli for both earlier this month. Another member here, who has a very similiar time line with the BK and card approval history also grabbed the Playstation Visa. I applied back in August and was auto-declined saying that there was a recent application done or a pending application in progress. I called, was told to wait 30 days. I did. Same thing. Because certain thnigs will bug the crap out of me unless answers are provided, I applied again just now... same thing. Straight to 7-10 message, no credit pulls, no nothing.

Any thoughts as to whats going on?

Cap1 only allows your two of their subprime cards and this is why... If you were to apply for the regular QS/Venture or Venture One this is wouldn't auto decline you although I would not advise that due to your current scores. Hope this helps you out on why auto decline.

I agree on waiting... QS and Venture are 1 year goals the CSR I spoke with didn't make mention of the 2 sub prime limit rule as I am aware of as well, but the other member states he has the QS1, platinum and the Sony card. Either he's fibbing about having all 3 or he snuck it by them then if the Sony card does fall in their sub prime category.

DGF has two QS1's and a Platinum so I'm not sure that the cutoff is 2 sub primes. It might be three. When they have aged to six months I'll probably comine them into one. Not sure why your third app attempt it returning the message you're getting.

Let me weigh in here - I have become obsessed with Cap One as I await the venture (Apping tomorrw as my 30 day window is up! And scores now all 690-710!!!!) .. QS1 and Platinum ARE in sub prime, and you are bwing auto declined because you are allowed ONLY 2 in this category. It will auto decline you forever. SONY however is in thier EXCELLENT tier, and beleive it or not, for Cap One this is ambigous -- i've seen people get approvals for Venture with low 640s and SONY with 630s or less. LOW limits albeit. $300-500 for SONY and lowest limit for Venture of $5k...

So you have 2 cards in AVERAGE TIER and one now in EXCELLENT. You are allowed 2 more for a toal of FIVE with Cap one...I suggest getting your scores above 650-660 at least and using those apps on VENTURE and QS Regular!!! Good luck

Addendum: You now have ot wait a minimum of 30 days to app again, it auto declines whether or not you are approved for 30 days after last app

I believe Cap1 uses 04 scores. Thank ye Gods bc mine are higher than 08.

Before stumbling upon this site, my first card I apped for was a Capital One Journey card. About two weeks later, I apped for both QSOne and Playstation Visa. I got approved for both cards back to back.

After a few months, my Journey card was PC'd to a QS Visa.

So yes, it is possible to have 2 "sub-prime" cards and a co-branded card like the Sony Visa or Playstation Visa.

Im proof of those venture high limits... and 640 CS's. Dont app directly, just keep hitting the preq page..

Strange but I have obtained 3 cards with Capital One. I have the Platinum, QS1 and Sony. Although I obtained the Sony a couple months later after the first approvals.

I have had 1 QS1 and 1 Platinum Card and also Sony Card so for the other person saying that its true since I can vouche for it just last week I upgraded my Platinum to QS1.
