Rejected by Chase for too many cards

I was trying to get one of the Hyatt cards. My application went into permanent review, to a point where they lost the application. Meanwhile, wife's Hyatt application got denied because she had opened up a Ritz, CSP, Citi Prestige in a matter of a week. I asked them to lower the Ritz's limit to account for the Hyatt, but that was a no go. Free ride is over

So im guessing you called and spoke to a rep about your application status? How many post here at my fico. When doing a co branded card and long as you were not denied to let the application ride and the computer make the decision. More than likely you would have been approved. I just got my marriott last month and with 13 new accounts in the last year. now 15. no problems it was also under review. but i did not call. After 10 days. it showed up in my profile. 5k. that is the key. For sure their regular cards are instant denial for too many accounts.

Freedom. Slate, Csp, but co brnded can be had if you don't call lending.

op- what does permanet review mean? like taxi said, u called them about it? when I applied for Marriott it took about 15 days for the status to go from 2 weeks to approved. wait it out with these chase cards, let the system takes its time and yes it took like 3 weeks for me to get my card, in the end i got it without any problems.

They ask us to call on the screen, didn't say to wait it out. It says we have to call to verify some information.

Sorry to hear. Chase does that sometimes - not just a flat out approval or pending - it says something like "we need you to call us....."

Sorry OP. Sounds like me and chase. Any new app from me goes into pending and stays that way until I call in. No more Chase apps for me.

I got 100K in credit limit in one week, so I can't complaint. Still, I really want those free nights at Fairmont (I did have some reservation once I hear about the haunted hotel in London) and Hyatt

I app'ed about 3 weeks ago for CHASE Disney and got the 7-10 days email so I figured I was denied so today when I logged into my account this morning I seen a new Disney Chase card in my account with a 3k starting limit. Would like to get the Marriot card but for right now let me soak in this Disney Approval...Mickey here I come!!!

Yes the status screen will tell you to call, but you shouldn't call. If chase really needs to verify info, they'll call *you* and/or mail you a letter. Sorry about the denial.

I have the Fairmont Visa and the free nights are really one a one time benefit unless you plan to spend thousands of dollars to get them the 2nd year. This card works differently than Hyatt, Marriott or IHG. You have to spend so much each year to get free nights with Fairmont. Mine will be gone at anniversay time next year.

Citi Prestige, Chase Sapphire Preferred and Ritz. The other half got Citi Prestige, British Airways

Never call even if they ask you to.. Many data points on this recently to.. People that don't call that asked to call usually show up approved next day. Read alot of FT forum yesterday about this exact topic.

If it says call wait it out if you have many new credit card approvals in the last 24 months as they look for reasons to deny a person. Spent about 3 hours reading this exact thing on FT yesterday while waiting out my Hyatt application and trying to get data points.. Usually if you don't call it will show up next day.. Only time you might consider calling if your report is spotless and you haven't really opened any new accounts in two years, otherwise wait it out.. Co-branded doesn't follow the strict 24x5 rules as the CSP/Freedom, but they will look for a reason to deny you!

This is so true. I got approved for my last Chase card (Disney) and denied for Southwest all in the same call. Now I had to call because they would not process my applications due to too many submitted (my own fault) but a pretty good batting average on my part with Chase. Definitely do not call in unless absolutely required.

Good to know. If i ever got the call us screen, i probably would have posted on here and then went from there lol. but my guy reaction always, never call and I never do. my apps dont process as fast as others do but they proces eventually and the account shows up.

Like CC said, id only call them if I had a profile that was not indicating red flags and some raised eye brows from chase. so a normal person who may apply for 1-2 cards a year, sure call them up if you dont get an instant approval and your report is approval worthy.
