Hello,

Just wanted some opinions. I just paid my 1st payment with Penfed and pid in full. My SL is $5K. My CC was opened 9/18/15 as it shows on my CC. Should i wait for before the 90 day to ask CLI? or I can ask request now? If I do ask now and get denied, can I still ask for CLI before the 90 day? Or I will loose my eligibility of the 90 day? I am also interested in getting the Penfed Promise CC. Thanks

Your hp is good for 90 days. You can request as many things as you like in those 90 days no additional pull. I have seen successful clis both waiting till right before 90 days is up as well as requesting immediately after getting the card. The choice is yours. But if your request is denied now, you can still request again right before the deadline. No harm no foul.

I believe you are going to be on the same HP as when you opened the account. If I remember correctly, anything you apply for either 60 or 90 days from when you opened the account is the same credit report.

Here is what I did: I applied for the Amex card and got approved for an $11k SL. About 3wks later I apped for the Platinum Rewards Visa Signature and was approved for $7k

While you could ask for a CLI, I think your chances would be better applying for a second product, this early on.

You could apply for anything you want from there right now because it's the same credit pull as when you opened your account.

I applied for both the Rewards Visa and the Visa Promise on the same day then a CLI on the Rewards a week later - all from the same pull.

I got approved with penfed on 06/01 for 2.5K and asked for an increase 6 weeks later and got 3.5K.

I asked again maybe 4 weeks after that right before my 90 days was up and was denied for pyrmaiding debt, it can't hurt to ask if it isn't another HP.

Thank you for sharing ... Just quite hesitant appying for CLI coz I'm just about 43 days from opening my CC

Where can I see the LUV button from Penfed? should it show where "Make a Payment, Transfer a Balance and Access my rewards" if it is offered to me? Or is it on the "More account info and actions" tab?. For those who were offered did you find the LUV button on the My accounts page together with the "Make a Payment, Transfer a Balance and Access my rewards"? Thanks.

OP - I was approved for Penfed rewards card with a SL of 5k. I requested a CLI not long after receiving my card and was approved for 10k. Hadn't used the card or made my first payment. Go for it! Good luck.

Thank you for your input. How many days from when u opened your CC to applying for CLI? Did the CLI showed on your account page? Was it offered to you on your home account page? Would you mind sharing your stats used for the CLI? Thanks.
