Just hit a wall...

My 6th applications in the past 2-3 months.

Approved for 5 cards so far...most recent was Chase United/Citi Voyager on 11/6 instant approval.

So today, I came across this Southwest Plus CC with a signup bonus of 40k miles w/an AF of $69, $1k spend in 3 months. Submitted the app and Bam! Got the message "we need to review your application a little longer, if we approved you will get the card in 7-10 business days, etc.."

Received an email from Chase right after and it stated they will need 30 days now and not to resubmit another application.

Am I doom? I should of could of stopped while I was ahead!

the chase 30 day message has been ok for most people. that other one idk. but it sounds like you're getting a ton of the same kinds of cards. will these all benefit you?

7-10 day is usually (usually) a denial..30 days has been usually (usually) an approval....DONT CALL

Yeah I fly southwest 6-8x annually. United international 2x annually. I wanted the bonus and only use the cards to get that bonus. Citi voyager is mainly for hotels through Expedia.

Call the automated Phone application system.. This will give you the answer you desire whether being reviewed or declined..

Chase: 800-436-7927 (App status - automated)

Push # once connected and it will prompt you for check application status or something through automated system.. It will ask for SSN,

2 weeks or 30 days = Good

7-10 days = bad

7-10 days on application through applying on their website means NOTHING as most people get this.. Its the automated application system that will let you know where you stand... Don't speak with anyone, just do the automated system to check status.

to get a feeling of if approved or not, call the 800 432 3117 number and see what it says. best outcome is you will hear from us in 2 weeks or approved haha.

Congrats! 2 weeks has never let me down. Granted it could but I've always seen a card show up!

Glad to hear it is 2 weeks.. Check every day a few times a day and eventually it should change to congratulation you are approved and then list approval amount and apr.. Just whatever you do don't speak to anyone and hopefully you will see the card show up on your chase account or arrival in the mail.. Once again do not call UW for whatever reason. Just let it play out and play the waiting game.. I only had to wait over night and was approved the next morning.. some people have to wait a few weeks!

ive waited as long as 16 days for to hear message change from 2 weeks to approved. SW Visa took about the standard 9 days for me. never called on any of 10 chase cards except number one, Freedom.

It took three weeks to hear from Chase about my United Explorer card. Then out of the blue a call to verify some information and boom I was approved. I had given up and just thought I would get a denial letter. Good luck!

I have 9 Chase accounts. I have called each time within a few hours of applying. Always sent to lending for verification. After answering a few questions, always approved. For me, always pulled EX. I was just approved a couple weeks ago for the Fairmont card, 8500 SL. Oddly, I have never been asked about inquires, which on EX I have 33. I call because I want a human to make the decision, as they have my credit report in front of them.

Strange as you kinda are an exception how Chase UW has been treating people recently going after alot of accounts. You can read tons hear of denials not just on CSP/Freedom but co-branded card to to alot of new accounts/inquiries along with FT site among many other sites/blogs as well. If it does get denied then that is when you can call and plead your case otherwise let the computer do the magic. Last year you called right away, now it is completly 180 from what last year was as they look for a reason to denial peope if you call in.. Most of these people have 800+ scores from FT that I read about getting declined if they call in and speak to UW.. Granted it is what you read, but everytime I use to call bad results I didnt call last time and 17.5k approval after a day.. So I know how I stand on it
