I WANT AN AMEX CARD!

What do I have to do to become part of the Amex family! I have a 714 EX score which I know that is what they check. I also have a 724 EQ score. I was denied a few months ago for the Amex ED with a EXP score of 676 at the time. I was wondering if anyone has used their prequalied offers link? How accurate is it?

I used the link to prequalify twice. I was approved on 11/2 for Amex Every day. Prior to hitting the garden I used the link again tonight and Blue Cash Preferred popped up with others and I went for it again. Good luck, you will get a card. Now is the best time. They pulled experian and my score was 713.

Oh man! I'm jealous!!! I want the Amex ED! Congrats on the Approval! May ask what are your current revolving accounts and credit history? Just to get an idea if your 713 EX is far more trustworthy than my 714.

I just was Approved yesterday with a EX score of 695 for The Amex Everyday Card. Spending Limit 2k. They Recommended Amex ED,Blue Cash, and a Platinum Charge. Your Score is Higher than it previously was before, won't hurt much to try again maybe 2-3 point hit.

I'm contemplating on applying for the Blue Cash now lol. You thinking about applying tonight? how many Inq you have on EX and your overall Util?

I barely have any inquries on my EX since most of my credit cards have used EQ and TU. I have about 25% utilization of my overall credit right now.

It might be worth a try if your EX scores are good and if your overall utilization is good, with not too many new accounts. What reasons did they tell you in the prior denial? If you've worked on those and things have changed in your profile, it may work out.

No baddies. 2 new credit cards in the last 2 months. A Citi Thankyoupreferred and a Citi Double Cash. I just applied for the BCE and denied. WHY!?!?

Sorry you were denied. Strange because I applied twice within 1 week and got approved. I wonder what they look for.

Well, myFICO score here is 714 EX but they told me it was 708. They also said that the main factor for the denial was that my consumer risk score was too high. The other factors were not enough revoling account and too many inquries. I just don't get it.

To address Amex's comment to you about your revolving accounts - how old are your revolving accounts, and how many do you have? Are they major credit cards, or store cards? Knowing more detail can help us help you.

It looks like you have opened 4 accounts in the past couple months. Two of those are secured, another is a low Sl then Citi approved you (which is a good start). With the 3 low limits and 25% utilization, it seems to have raised a red flag for Amex right now.

You will be able to get Amex BUT you are going to have to be patient and let your accounts report and grow. It took me a year and I was just approved last night. I have 5 inquiries and new accounts this year. I have 1% utilization. I wait a few months in between sprees to let my accounts report. Hang in there. It will happen!

My Ex score was only 681 and I got approve for the Amex BCE card with 1k SL, I have 6 baddies but all from student loans but i think I got approve base on my utiliztion, which only only 1% out of 8000 Cl.

I made multiple payments a month so my reported balance was always low. I check the Amex pre qual, and they just had suggestions on cards I might like, so I wasn't even pre qual for any cards. It never hurts to try and only have `1 inquiry on EX, not on EQ or TU because Amex only use EX to check CR
