Denied for Barclay Card - No Credit Inquiry

I applied for a Barclay Card and was denied. Got letter in the mail today and I'm definitely blacklisted. Had account from 2008 that was charged off. At least the letter stated that they did not do a credit inquiry. Now I know for sure ..... No Barclay for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So sorry that happened. I am on Wells Fargo and Amex blacklists so I understand. Just move on and find something you will like as well or better. I did.

Yeah Barclays does blacklist, how much did you burn them for? Id think if you payed back the debt they would let you back in..

You're not alone...burned them in my Ch. 13 and they haven't (and probably won't ever) forgive me for it...

I agree. just move on. no way would i be trying to pay a 7 year old debt. let it go. More fish in the sea.

Your not alone, I had a charge off in 2008 and when I applied several months ago, immediate decline. No rpt pulled, Barclay has long been removed from my credit rpt. I called and I'm on their s#%t list too. I'm definitely ok with that and I'm grateful that I didn't have to take a HP for that app.

I'm in almost the exact same situation... I had an old Juniper account CO'd around 2007-2008 (been off my reports for a couple of years) and when I tried applying for Sallie Mae back in July, I had the exact same experience - declined with no HP. The letter they sent also referenced the old account, as well that there was no HP (which I was thankful for).

It does suck, but there are other fish in the sea. In my case, I was able to pretty much get the same (or better) benefits using other cards.

We should start our own club, "Blacklisted by Barclays"... LOL

(Sidenote: shortly after my app was submitted online, I received an email solicitation for a "Milestone MasterCard"... I'm quite certain they got my info from Barclays. I guess Barclays feels that anybody they have on the blacklist should be relegated to Milestone! Nothing against Milestone, but thankfully I'm able to do a bit better.)
