The cards I want to get, when the time is right and chances of approval are high are:

Southwest Airlines

Lowe's Home Improvement

Costco - new VISA program that comes out spring of 2016

Questions:

Does anyone know what scores are required for any of the above cards?

I know DTI is a factor, in addition to scores - my DTI is very low. I'm keeping my credit card accounts (Barclays, Cap one) at 30% utilization, per request of credit repair company for best score building.

What other things can I work on to improve the chances of being approved?

Is it best to apply for a new card every now and then - spreading the applications out?

Or, is it best to apply for all of them at once, so the other inquiries won't show yet?

Any assistance is appreciated~!

Zippy

first off cut that 30% down by about 75%

for "optimal" scoring it's understood to have all cards paid to $0 and one card reporting 1%-9% of that cards credit line.

also the lowes card can handle lower scores (mid 600s) but if you want the other two i recommend over 700.

keep in mind you don't want the bare minimum score because your terms could suffer or be unfavorable.

I've been stalking Chase.

The Southwest Rapid Rewards is Chase, and all I can tell, is that my EX needs to clear 670, have an AAoA >1yr, and under 20% UTL. No, I don't have it. This is the only intel I've gotten while I salivate at all the miles cards. Also, the Premier is harder to get, but seems that SouthWest RR is easier than United Mileage. IDK. I don't have it. Just...stalking my prey...

Of Course Chase pulls at rando...but... CreditStatus Database, Financial Globe. Also, CreditPulls database.

What does AAoA >1y mean? A couple of replies mentioned AAoA - I'm new to the message board and don't understand the "shorthand" terms.

My FICO scores, as of 11/17 are: Equifax 660, Transunion 657, and as of 8/11, Experian was 611. I'm currently on round 3 of protests, and I have a charge off/collection coming off very soon. It's already off one of the bureaus, and will come off the other two bureaus very soon.

I do have 3-4 medical collections that are 1-2 years old.
