Chances for Approval??

I applied for AMEX ED and Chase Freedom this weekend and got approved for both. I am planning on traveling alot these next few months and wanted to get a card for this. I was looking at either the BoA Travel Rewards card for Students or the non-student BoA travel rewards card.

Some info about myself:

TU: 743

EX: 743

EQ: 742

I have 6 total inquires, 1 TU, 3 EQ, and 2 EX. I know BoA pulls Experian and those 2 hard pulls were from recent accounts. Should I just go for the BoA Travel Rewards for students or wait? I was also pre-qual for Chase Sapphire.

Any advice is welcomed!!

Sounds like you have had a good streak. If your qualified for Chase Sapphire I would go with that, it is a pretty safe bet you won't waste the HP. I suspect you would be fine with the B of A card also but you have a bird in the hand with Sapphire and that is a desirable card to have.

Since it doesn't look like you have over 5 accounts opened in the past 2 years, I'd say you have a pretty good shot at a CSP. Esp with a pre-approval, I've heard Chase's are pretty solid. It even has a higher sign-up bonus of 50,000 Ultimate Rewards points right now. The only thing though, is as a student, it might be hard to manage the amount of spend requred to get those points. If you can meet the spend though, a CSP would pair quite nicely with your Freedom for travel!

If your pre-qualified on their site for the CSP, go for that. It pairs up with the Freedom and if your going to be doing a lot of traveling like you said, you should be able to hit the spend for your bonus points hopefully. Just make the CSP your main card for everything until you hit the spend requirements. Then go back to pairing and using your cards strategically.

I really would like to apply for the CSP, but I am nervous that they will either deny me or that the annual fee will be too much for me in the long run and I will end up canceling..

Will they do another hard pull on my account even though I applied for the Freedom 2 days ago??
