I too have done the spree it was right after my first approval for my Cap 1. I refuse to go with Chase Citi or AMEX because I have seen people with scores in the low 700's get denied because they didnt have enough income or history I have given up on Chase AMex and Citi but thats my personal choice

Last night I made a very terrible mistake... I went on a mini app spree, when I should not have. I didn't get approved for any cards, which was really disappointing. The reason for more of the denials were too many new lines of credit =-(

Has anyone every done something similar?

By the way, new to the community. I am looking for the support I need to stay on track to building my credit back up. No BK, just a collection or two and a 2 settled credit cards.

Sorry about the denials. I don't mean to offend you but those FICO scores in you sig are quite low for the CCs you applied. I beleive a score of upper 600's to 700's will get you those CCs. Sorry OP.

I don't take offense. I realize that my scores are not in shape for these CC's. However, I saw that some people were approved with low scores, and were even approved for limits as low as 500. I didn't think this one through and hopefully I can get the support I need in these forums! Thanks for your feedback.

OP, welcome to the forums! I understand your angst and empathize with you. Looking at your signature you have some really good cards! I just think you should garden for another 6-12 months and work on whatever is holding your scores down. Once your TU gets to about 640, go ahead and apply for credit limit increases on the Synchrony cards. Keep your overall utilization low and you should be fine. Try not to be disappointed in the denials...take the letters they send and use the, for inspiration as you go. In no time you'll be in Approvals proclaiming victory over Chase, Capital One and Barclays. Keep your chin up!

I have gotten many of my collection accounts taken care of and removed. It was alot of work but it has paid off! Also waiting for some inquiries to fall off. I have about 10-12 inquiries from the last 24 months and I wonder what my credit will be like by the time most of these have fallen off. Anyways, thanks again for your inspiration. You have a great story and your hard work has paid off!

There you go, I like that attitude! The key words are "wait" and "time". I'm not a patient person so my waiting for things to age off & inquiries to fall off is always my weak point. If you can conquer the wait and "garden", you will be golden. You're off to a good start! Blessings to you as you go. 😊

I've been there before too. With low 600's you need to garden and give it 6-12 months. then when you are ready to apply for something, don't just do it, optimize your credit reports so U have the best chances of getting approved.

Once you have a more solid history, you can apply for cards without having to make sure your reports are super optimized. but in the start, low utilization plus 6 months of a cool down period does wonders! good luck and just keep your payment history excellent and utilization low and 6-12 months will eventually fly by. I definitely get it though as I am the worst impatient person ever! lol

I have been in the same place just this past January with scores in the 550s and started cleaning up my reports and in just 11 months with the help of this forum (should be a paid forum for how valuable the advice is) I have went from one 500$ capital one card to now having 83k in revolving credit lines.

Please listen to everybody and don't keep applying it will not help you BELIEVE me I have over 120+ inquiries total over my 3 credit reports and I will say only about 15 of them actually resulted in something worthwhile if I could change the past I would but if impatience is your problem your in the right place because this forum is full of impatient people me being one of them just get in the gardens and grow those lines you do have.

And those synchrony cards you do have will grow FAST once your transunion score goes up my Walmart card and all my synchrony cards started at under 500$ in March and you can see in my signature that they have grown very large.

Also to keep yourself busy every once in a while if you feel like aping for something hop on chat with synchrony and request an increase its a sp and helps get it out of your system.

I wish you the best of luck and can't wait to see your 20k venture approval in a year or two. Then we will all look back at this thread and say see.

Don't beat yourself up over mistakes (credit or otherwise). If you learned something from your mistake, then that mistake has helped you.

You can check the credit pulls database to see what scores are needed for which cards before applying in the future.
