How long to wait to apply for Sapphire Preferred after getting approved for Freedom?

I was just approved for a Freedom with a 5k CL but my dream card is the CSP (with hopefully a 10k CL).

How long should I use the Freedom before applying for the CSP?
Should I keep my utilization low to show a lack of desperation or should I run it high (and pay in full each month) to show that I use the full CL responsibly?

What are your other cards, other CLs, FICO scores, etc? If your history supports it, you may not need to wait long for a CSP, but it really depends on your file.

I would say a little of column A, a little of column B re: util... Put lots of spend on the card, but dont let it report at over 30%.

When you say just, how long ago did you mean exactly? Because if it was today then you could apply for the CSP and get the HP's combined instead of having to use another one just for the CSP. Keep in mind that you still need to have less than 5 new accounts opened in the past 24 months though.

Taking a look at your profile it seems like you'd be a pretty borderline candidate; the Freedom is your first CL on a non-store card over $5k, which is the minimum CSP will approve you for. If you're looking for a CSP approval at $10k, you'll most likely need to garden for a while and get some CLI's first to show you can handle higher limits.

I got a 30 day wait message when I applied for Chase Sapphire and I called into the verification line @ 1-888-245-0625 and they approved me immediatly after answering a few questions to verify my identity. Approved for $16,900 get my card in 7-10 days
