Just applied for Amex Delta Skymiles and denied with a 724 FICO Score like Amex come on let me in!!!! Guess I need to garden forreal.

to many inquires in the last 12 months and no installment loans. a bunch a bull.. but i will be starting an installment loan shortly so imma garden for 2 years and then reapply. ok maybe 6 months to a year imma try my best

I can't get a CLI on any of my Amex cards because of many inquiries and new accounts, yet they approve me for another one. Go figure.

I cant get a CLI either for my BCE, did the whole 3x guide and NOTHING, but they approve me for 2 new cards simultaneously, 1 is a charge card (PRG), so it potentially has a higher limit and the other, which is the hhonors card DOES have a higher limit, makes no goddamn sense.

Weren't you just denied for an Amex Green a couple weeks ago for similar reasons? There are no shortcuts, they are telling you they want more history, time and patience is what's required here. Garden for six months and try again, I would stop wasting inquiries.

I app'd for the ED in November. Couple weeks later I see on AmEx's site I'm prequal'd for the ED. I called em. Oh yes I did, and lamented to why they are teasing me. CSR stated try after Christmas.

Gardening is good. Building a fountain of angst in the middle of mine.

Gardening may be wholesome family goodness, but I also see the obvious potential for cult-like patterns. Cookies sound good, but I caution all not o drink the Kool Aid!!!

From the title I thought this thread should be moved to the approval section ... sorry to hear it is a denial. As others have suggested - garden and you will be an Amex member in like 6-12 months - stay away from apps in the meantime

You can get HP inquiry free secured personal loans with either SDFCU or Alliant CU. I'd recommend Alliant as they let you pay down your balance to whatever and push payment out indefinitely. Based on my experience SDFCU only pushes out next payment by 3 months.

It's makes you dizzy how they work....I have an application for Amex BCE "In Progress" for a week now. When I called they said they sent a letter, when I get it, read it over, and call them back. Sounds like a "Secured Card" offer, or something I am not aware of. Haven't for the letter yet. But, I have been denied by Barclays for the same reasons as you stated( too many inquiries last 12 months, and no installment loan). I hope that this isn't what Amex is saying to me also. Yet, Chase Slate and CO Quicksilver approved me the same frickin week. Amex seems they throw a dart and make a decision.

I want an Amex BCE, but still don't have one. I did speak to Amex and addressed the "no installment loan" by telling them that I own my vehicles, have no need for a mortgage, and won't take a loan just to make a report look better, that's not what credit is about. We'll see what happens. \

Wow. Sorry to hear. Remember score is not everything so it is something they are not liking. Did you burn them before or something or have high util? I can't imagine them not giving you the delta with that score unless something else is spooking them. I think i got my Delta at about 670 . Even with a 4 year old collection on my report at the time. IIRC>

It makes perfect sense from their point of view. The PRG is charge so they know it is pay and full no balance on it. and 1 revolver to get a Sense of your history and behavior with them. If you give them a little time your internal score with them will go up. Pay often and pay in full when possible. No choice on the prg. and then they will open the doors. Now if you got a 1k or 2k limit then it will take a lot longer in most cases. But not always. possibly even over a year to get a cli. it is just how they are. they want to see more History.

They don't do secured cards on Amex. They don't compare themselves with what other lenders do as well. Honestly they are kind of Fickle to say the least. maybe when i got in i already had a secured installment loan completed for $500 bucks. $40 a month. As mentioned there are many loans that don't require Hp. Sdfcu is one for sure. as in most credit unions. simple plop $500 down and pay it off in 6 months. when its paid down you will have 1k in savings and loan on your report. 6 months tops and easily get in with Amex.
