New BofA Debit card with EMV chip

Saw some info about how Bank of America was now offering their debit cards with an EMV chip. I never use my debit card but its still nice to have the option. Plus it just looks 10 times better, so I sent them a message requesting it and they are sending me out a new one.

Thats is awesome! Wells Fargo should do the same... But it was about time there was a Debit card with an EMV Chip

I agree, very cool to have. Im sure the other big banks will jump on board eventually, hopefully sometime next year

I did some research on Chase and supposedly they wont have an EMV on theirs until 2016, but I couldnt find any info on WF. I opened a WF account for the sole reason of getting a Propel Amex cc from them next year, apparently they like banking relationships in order for people to get a card from them so Im being proactive. If I get one I'll have at least one card from all 4 of the big banks amongst many other and I will have completed my journey. So it wont be a first to open an account at another bank for something like this, I just hope it pays off. This debit card is chip and pin so thats pretty awesome.

Did you make sure they aren't going to charge you? My understanding is that B of A has a $5 fee for an out-of-cycle debit card replacement, and that they are NOT making exceptions in this case.

They didnt mention anything about a fee so I would assume no but if they do I'll report back. It would be droll if they were to charge for that in my opinion.

ok quick update, tried to request the emv debit card and they wanted to charge me $5 for replacement because the expiration on my current card is not up. What a joke, thank god i moved all my money out of there and only left the minimum required to keep the account open.

I cleaned out my accounts and ran as fast as I could when they stopped offering drive-thru banking at ALL the locations in Jacksonville...to "better serve their customers"

Nothing like waiting in line for the ONE teller they had working inside.

Yep, I asked if it can be waived and the rep said no and its automatic lol... I only keep like the minimum in my account for it to stay open, even lost cards they charge $5...

i just spoke to BOA and they are going to send me this New BOA EMV Chip Debit Card but they are going to charge me $5 for it, the only way i could get it for Free is if i wait until BOA decides to send them to all the customers in 2015 .....................Anyways, i'm getting $200 from BOA soon for using their 2 Credit Cards so giving them back $5 out of the $200 i'll get from them is NOT too bad

I just received the new BoA debit card last week. BoA canceled my debit card due to an attempted fraudulent charge.

Charles Schwab sent theirs (beautiful white card with the world map) a few months ago. Which is not surprising given how much is used for international travel. And we didn't get charged no stinkin five bucks....

I just signed up for Schwab last week and did my initial funding....I am SUPER excited to start banking with them. Glad to hear they have a nice card!
