$1,200 Stimulus Payment just arrived

Well, not mine but my fiancés. He just ran over to me freaking out because there was $1,200 extra in his account and thought it was a mistake because he already received his tax refund (he filed in February). I had to explain to him that it was the stimulus check and he STILL didn't know what I was talking about. He was like, but I didn't apply for that! Boy was he happy, haha!

Anyone else get it yet? I just checked but I think it will be a while before mine arrives (although this gives me hope that it will be sooner than later). I only just filed my taxes last week.

Mine is pending in our account for 4/15, my SO's isn't pending yet, which is weird because he's had his refunds deposited into our joint account for the last few years, and he filed this year, soooo....no idea! But hey! We've got one pending!

Yeah, I'm actually surprised because from what I've read, the first payments would be for people with lower incomes and then they'd work their way up. He's around $70k and so is mine, so I thought our payments would be closer to June (or later). I'm going to drive myself crazy checking every week (day).

Glad to see some people are starting to get theirs already. Word through the grapevine is some people in VA should start getting theirs next week. I'm still waiting but I suspect it will be a bit.

How are you able to track the status? I know the get my payment tool on the IRS website isnt ready yet to be used.

I make less than $40k/year and my stimulus payment is nowhere in sight so unfortunately I highly doubt they are basing first payments off of income. Hell, I've yet to receive any of my unemployment since having my hours chopped in half..... I just consider myself lucky I'm bringing in any sort of income in the current environment.

They (The IRS) are working on a tool to be able to track your CARES Act stimulus payment.

I suggest only using tools from the irs.gov website.

Yeah, that's the one I'm waiting for, the "Get My Payment" tool that's supposedly coming mid-April. I'm semi-retired with retirement Soc.Sec. and work part time. I file every year and already filed 2019 but only to get my AZ income tax withheld refunded, I don't have federal tax withheld and don't owe any fed tax. I use TurboTax online free edition and checking the PDF of this year's return the space on my 1040 for my banking info is x'd out while my state return had my banking info, and I already got my state refund direct deoosit. That "Get My Payment" tracking tool is supposed to have a place to enter your bank info in addition to tracking the status of your payment.

Nothing here yet. I don't think they are going by income first since all the reported payments are only $1200, due to the fact the same incomes would also have children. Perhaps they are only doing the smallest amounts first and working up. Who really knows at the time.
