I prefer mail, I didn't want to wait to call them, if that makes any sense lol. On the form they said they can also e-mail your report to you, so I opted into that. I still like the idea of the Liquid card regardless, plus you walk out with one that day vs. waiting for a debit card. On the other hand I'd never get the $300 bonus, but I'd like to establish an actual relationship with Chase as well.

When I started at Chase they were still giving the DC on the spot, but I know they changed that last August. I know Chase's site for the liquid still says you'll get the card in-branch, but I would have my doubts unless I speak to somebody in said branch.

Anyone else has input on this information?

I was in a branch today (The same one that gave me a card on the spot before) and they said they don't have the machine at all anymore, that all debit and liquid cards get mailed.

I know there have been previous threads about this card. I kinda like the idea behind it, but prefer more traditional checking accounts, mainly since my landlord pulls money directly from the account (ACH) since checks have been unrealiable in the past (resulting in a couple of waived late fees and one actual late fee), plus the fact that there's an additional 5 day grace period with ACH transfers.

I'm looking at this Chase Liquid card because well:

1) I like Chase's banking ecosystem (website, cards, Zelle, enhanced $0 liability protection with next day reimbursement, etc.).

2) There's plentiful branches around my residence with advanced ATM's if I need one.

3) Chase has extended banking hours and are open when other banks aren't in my area.

4) I can give one to my roomate so they can have their own account, but we can share money easier through Chase than our current setup.

Here's the questions and issues:

1) Everytime I apply for a checking account online with Chase, I get denied because of Early Warning Systems. I don't want to get laughed at by the banker after I go in and they can't give me this card. I've heard this one is harder to get than a typical prepaid card.

2) The $4.95 fee, although not a big deal at all really.

3) I've heard this card can actually overdraft, it's not mentioned in the T&C's.

4) When you activate this card/account, does it use Chase's online banking website, or does it use a "special" seperate website?

5) Adding money without using Zelle might take forever.

I believe Early Warning Systems is preventing me from opening a Chase checking account because I cannot open one online; however, I don't owe any banks money from overdrafts or anything like that. This card, I've heard, can help you "graduate" to a Chase checking account after 6-12 months.

I'd also like to add that Chase is one of few banks around here that offer safe deposit boxes, which is also something I'd like to have.

They're almost like lending for deposit accounts vs. the front-line reps.

All three branches at which I've gone to a desk have the CPC bankers on the right and the regular bankers on the left. You can check that your branch has CPC at https://privateclient.chase.com/. If you get up to their desk and their business cards have a silver octagon, you're good to go. If it's a blue octagon, just ask a generic question about a checking account or credit card and walk out. Heck, somebody on here got a CPC banker to give them their number to app for the JPM Reserve even...

I funded it, and then one night I tried to log into the app, it prompted me to enter my password instead of use touch ID. When I typed in the password, it said my account no longer existed. I called customer service who transferred me to the whatever risk department, who then advised Bank of America has a right to close my accounts whenever they want. The account was open for like six days and I recieved my debit card in the mail two or three days later.

When I received the account closure letter, they noted Early Warning System as the reason for closure. I'm pretty sure I've never owed a bank money because of overdrafts or other fees in the past. Not sure why this joke of a company flags perfectly good people. I mean what if I submitted my direct deposit for my new account to my employer already? BoA should have just denied the account instead of doing what they did.

Anyways, I'm 99% sure the problem is Early Warning Systems alone, but once I figure out what the issue is, I'll end up going to a branch anyway. The other alternative is to just have a Liquid card for six months, but I've heard those can be difficult to get at times.

I put the form in the mail this morning.
