Membership Accepted With BECU

No better time than now to plan for the future anew after so much that's gripped the financial and consumers market and households. For me it was a fairly smooth process. Only had to reupload documents only a second time and then that was complete. I obviously read lots of snafu's some have encountered but i called in and spoke with a very polite helpful CSR who answered my questions and she was great!

I'm looking forward to letting some months run ahead before entertaining their products in order to continue to increase and build up funding accounts and not just jump into it willy nilly.

All in all a very professional experience. I especially am impressed at this point early on with the knowledgable helpful reps who took my call since i am well east as some are.

Hopefully this credit union will prove out very well and make inroads satisfactory for us newcomers who are first timers with them.

I can say that i had a very productive nice friendly customer service rep that was super friendly and professional.

This CU was a predetermined choice of mine i been contemplating joining if at all possible for some time.

They will be nice to have in your back pocket later down the road! I had a few hiccups joining, but after the initial ones, its been smooth sailing since then!! Currently have a Visa $20K CL, and just got my first BT offer from them as well. Joined in 9/2019.

I think many of us have our eye on this CU since others dipped their finger into their pool a couple of years back and pulled out some great approvals. Their rates seem pretty good. 👍

I just joined BECU last week. So far I'm very impressed by their electronic services. I have spoken with their member service dpt twice, both reps were extremely helpful, professional, competent and nice. Really loved being able to open a money market account, add a joint owner - all in their website within thirty seconds, and without having to speak with anyone!

Congrats! I recently joined myself, i mailed in my app due to a security freeze. took them a month to process.

Any idea if BECU provides pre-approvals? I already got my fico score online.

I'm unsure if they send out pre-qualifications or pre-approvals. Gauging by your profile, you could be a candidate for an application. They will HP TU8 for credit applications.

Well, word to the wise. They hate you if your out of state. When i mailed my app, I included several pieces of ID verification. Yesterday they frize all my accounts after applying for a loan, and here is the real kick. They asked for it all back again! No way to talk to th security team,you have to get a BECU rep to be your lipman. They don't even have the honor of telling you you are restricted, you just can't login one afternoon and hav to spend 20mins on hold listening to the god awful music.

I have had my rough times with CU's before, and Navy FCU was no pleasure cruise. But BECU makes my experience with Navy's Security Team (resulting in a 6 hour drive to a branch) feel like a sail down Willy Wonka's cholocate factory.

For now my accounts are frozen while they ask for 3 paystubs, last year taxes and a utility statement. Sounds standard for a loan application but never in my life had my deposit accounts frozen over it. I'm just glad i had not used BECU yet except for some test zelle transactions.

The test Zelle is likely what did it. Same thing happened to me two years ago. Everything was approved, logged in and set up my accounts, sent my opening deposit with Zelle, and bam! Locked out. That set off a chain of phone calls and electronic faxes that never quite met their criteria and I just got fed up and had them mail me a check for the money I put in the account which took some fighting because they refused to close the account since they couldn't verify my identity. Finally got them to send me a check based on the fact my Zelle payment was from my personal checking account (name match).

Zelle was probably 2 months back. They literally left me alone until i applied for the CC. I don't jump into bed right away with these places. This is a prime example.
