I've noticed the US Bank $200 offer is pretty attractive regarding requirements, but it's targeted. The Gold account is free with a CC, but I have no use for it without the SUB.

Has anyone heard of getting a targeted offer after having a Cash+ (or any USB CC I guess) with them for awhile? Any ideas how to become a "target"?

Awesome post, c00mtg!

Just to add, they have #1 as CIT savings at 1.55%, but Barclays just went to 1.65% last week for their high-yield savings. No minimums.

As Bella observes, their number 1 recommendation is misleading. The proper thing to compare that Citi account to is not savings accounts that offer 0.1%, but rather the dozens and dozens of savings accounts that offer > 1.2%. Goldman Sacks, for example, offers an account at 1.7%.

This particular web site gets kickbacks from Citi for inducing people to sign up for its account. A better page (where the site owner's judgment is more objective) is Doctor of Credit:

https://www.doctorofcredit.com/best-bank-account-bonuses/

No reason not to get info from multiple sources of course. Just bear in mind that some sites might be in bed with the banks being reviewed.

Some of those are once only bonuses, such as $150 for a Discover Savings account and $200 for a Cap One 360 Money Market, but others like Chase can be done once a year. Others were more interesting: I had a free, no minimum balance checking at a local southern AZ credit union, Vantage West. They offered me a $200 bonus to upgrade to their premium checking that requires a $1k average daily balance to avoid a $5/mo. fee. The way I looked at it is I have $1k in a DCU savings account that pays 5% interest. That's $50/year, so that $200 bonus requiring a $1k balance in a checking account is worth 4 years of 5% interest on $1k in a savings account, so I jumped on it. (Kept the $1k DCU savings, just moved new money to VW)
